About

To the heavens and stars above in 2016!

I have been a Shibori artist since 1987; folding, twisting, binding, tying and knotting fabric and in turn, slinging color every chance I get. Commonly known as tie-dye, Kanoko Shibori, dates from the 8th century Japan. Itajime Shibori, which uses woodblocks to sandwich the cloth, is something I am experimenting with these days. I also see myself returning to the batik process, something I enjoyed doing 20 years ago. Mine is a colorful, twisted world!

It has been a fabulous year of re-connection and life realizations, and in 2016, I will combine my artistic talents with Tabitha, an amazing batik and fabric artist, whose current fascination lies in ice dyeing. And the sky is the new limit. No, make that the heavens and the stars.... Look for amazing wearable art in the new year.

Cheers, Dan & Tabitha
