Eado Vintage in East Downtown Houston
EaDo Vintage was started in 2010 to be happier in this journey of life. I love old things and their history and the story they can tell. I appreciate old textiles and the skill used to construct vintage fashion. In this throw away world, finding old treasures made with skill and love makes me very happy. I recently closed down my BM store and moved all the good stuff to a climate controlled storage 2 blocks from my house. I will be adding listings and updating photos daily. Stay tuned and check back frequently. Thank you for visiting, shopping and supporting my adventure in life.

Shop policies
Please note: I don't always wash or dry clean an item. Sometimes I do if they have a stain or are really dirty. If it's dead stock I don't wash it because then it's not dead stock any more. I can't afford to have everything dry cleaned plus it's expensive here and they don't always know how to clean vintage items. I've had more than one thing ruined at the dry cleaners. If you want it cleaned or washed and don't mind waiting let me know and I will do my best. Dry cleaning will cost a fee. My prices generally reflect a discount for cleaning. I try to keep the prices as reasonable as possible. If I cleaned every item I'd be broke. I usually do repair the items. If I don't I'll let you know any issues as accurately as possible. Please convo with any questions or more photos and I'll do my best to answer promptly. Thanks for shopping!

Vintage clothing has had a previous life. It has been worn or stored before I received it. It will usually show signs of normal age and wear. I spend a lot of time to provide detailed measurements and accurate descriptions of condition. Check the measurements and compare them with measures of a garment that fits you. Give yourself some ease when measuring. 2" at bust and hip and 1" at the waist or compare to clothing you own that fits you. If you have any questions or want additional photos please convo me. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase contact me within 48 hours of receipt of your item. We will work it out. Returns are accepted on a case basis. If we do agree on a return I will issue a Return Authorization with instructions on shipping it back to me. It must be returned by the date specified in the RA which is 7 days from receipt. It must be returned in the same condition it was sent: unworn, undamaged, carefully packaged and with the inventory tag intact. Shipping fees are non-refundable unless I made an error in measures or description. I do want you to be happy and have a pleasant experience shopping at EaDo Vintage.

Shipping
Most items will ship within 2 days. If it is a rush for a special occasion let me know and I will be happy to expedite your order. You should select Express shipping when you need it fast. I ship first class or Priority USPS for domestic orders. Priority comes with insurance and tracking so your items are always guaranteed to arrive safely. I add insurance to first class and parcel post.
Some of my shipping materials are recycled. I like to ship delicate items in a box. This all adds to the shipping price.I agree shipping is ridiculous. I'm just trying to not lose money on shipping. If I have grossly over charged I will refund you. I wrap the item in tissue paper (new) and then in plastic. It may not always be beautiful but it is always safe and functional. The envelopes and tape and labels are expensive plus I drive everything to the post office for safety. I do try to make a dollar here and there to cover these costs. Generally, anything over $2 will be refunded to you.
I will be happy to ship internationally. Here in the US they will only track shipments until the time it leaves the US UNLESS you purchase Express shipping which is expensive. For this reason I will include insurance on all items so your item cost and shipping will be refunded if lost. It takes a while but you can purchase knowing I will be responsible for your lost items. I can not pay or know your country's import taxes, custom fees or VAT. That will be your responsibility.

Frequently asked questions
What size is it?
Vintage sizes are different than modern sizes. I usually try to size as xtra small 34" bust or less, small 34-36" bust, medium 38"-40" bust, large 42"-44" bust and XLarge 45" bust plus. Each listing should have measurements. These are taken laying flat and doubled where appropriate. Length is measured from middle top shoulder. Shoulders measured in front. Sleeve length from top shoulder. It is best is to take something that fits you well, measure it and compare the measurements or take your measurements with under garments add a little for ease (about 1") and compare to listed measures. Many vintage items have easily tailored construction. If something is a little big you can usually have it taken in. Convo me and I can look at it for you.
What does it smell like?
I hate this question. Smell is a matter of opinion. I don't find the vintage smell offensive. Some people do. Do I wash everything? No I can not dry clean or wash everything. It's just impossible. I have too much and it would be cost prohibitive. I discount it if it needs cleaning and I haven't done it. I do hand wash a lot of the things that are hand washable especially if they have a stain. Everything is hanging together or stored together so even if I do wash it it may still have a vintage smell. If you love and buy a lot of vintage you know what I'm talking about. It goes away when you wash or dry clean. Steaming will also help on more delicate items. I usually steam prior to photographing. Please Ask to have it cleaned before shipping.
Wholesale availability
Yes I will discount if you are buying multiple items. The more you buy the better the discount. Convo me with a list and let me calculate the shipping and discuss a discount. Combining shipping with etsy calculator is always too high no matter what I do.
Do I give discounts?
Yes and no. Sometimes. Depends. You can convo me with any reasonable offer.
What is the condition?
Most vintage lovers understand that wearing vintage sometimes means accepting small imperfections. I really try to list all the imperfections to the best of my ability. Unless stated in the listing I repair most issues needing attention. I never say it's in excellent condition any more. If you look hard enough you will find something. When you are wearing a vintage piece most people will not be on the ground inspecting your hemline for pin holes. Keep that in mind. Each listing has a condition section where i list the issues and give my opinion of how noticeable they are for average wearing conditions. I also let you know what I repaired and how it came out. If you are super super picky you should probably buy new clothes. Just saying.
How do you clean vintage clothes?
There are entire books and blogs written on this subject. There were very few fabric content labels or cleaning labels on clothing before the 1970s. A lot of vintage was home sewn so no labels there. You have to first determine the fabric if possible. Go to VFG for help. In many cases I have done this for you in the first section of the listing. This is your guide to cleaning. Figure out the fabric then google the cleaning for that fabric or ask me and I'll give you my best idea. In short, don't put your vintage in the washing machine or dryer. I have a hand wash cycle and will occasionally wash sturdy cottons in the washer and line dry. Cleaning vintage does usually require more work but it is always worth the extra trouble.
Why buy vintage?
It's earth friendly.
The fabrics are awesome.
The construction is usually way better than modern clothing.
The design is original.
Everything at the mall is a knock off of something vintage.
Why buy a cheap imitation when you can buy the real deal?
No one else will be wearing your dress at the party.
