About

Early Dawn - Art, Crafts, and Farm

Hello, Welcome to Early Dawn Crafts!
I started to crochet when I was about seven years old. I have always enjoyed using unique patterns as well as making up some pretty (and sometimes 'interesting') ones of my own. I love yarn and knitting and crochet are two of my favorite hobbies. Although I only seriously picked up knitting about two years ago, I love the different textures of the finished product when compared to crochet and am trying to get some of my knitted projects ready for sale in my shop.

I have been drawing just about as long as I can remember and started submitting my artwork to magazines and local contests when I was about ten. I have won several ribbons in our local fair, but mostly I enjoy art as a just hobby. I draw each piece with care and truly enjoy what I do. If I am not having fun with my artwork I stop! I mostly draw animals and nature but lately I have started trying new subjects including some family portraits. If you would like a custom art print or are interested in purchasing one of my originals, please contact me. I will try to work with you!

Besides the crafts you see in my shop, I am also busy with things on my 'farm'. I own Nubian dairy goats, chickens, and honey bees and love to garden. In the spring baby goats are born, the gardens need to be tilled and planted, and the bees start coming out after the winter's cold. Summer means the daily milkings are providing plenty of fresh milk, collecting lots of lovely brown eggs from the chickens, and maybe the bees will share some early honey. Not to mention keeping those pesky weeds out of the gardens! In the fall everything must be made ready for winter. The garden produce is gathered in and stored, the goats are slowing down in their milk production and will need to be rebred, the fall honey is collected leaving plenty for the bees to eat during the coming winter. Winter is a the slow time when most of my crafting is done! In all the seasons I love to see the hand of our Creator!

Thank you for visiting my shop!
Best wishes,
Alysha

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

I would love to work with you on a custom order! Simply click the 'Request custom order' button and tell me about your idea!
Keep in mind that since these orders will be made especially for you, it may take me a several days (or weeks) to complete the project depending on your order. A set of note cards for example should not take longer than two to four days to make, while an afghan could take three or four weeks.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Anything in my shop may be sent as a gift, just let me know after your purchase.
In the 'notes to seller' box, tell me exactly what you would like me to write on a handmade tag or card. Also please state the event (birthday for child/adult, anniversary, etc.) and whether you would like the gift to be wrapped. Be sure to use your gift recipient's address at checkout. Please allow for the processing time stated in the listing.

Whenever possible, I reuse packaging materials to save money on shipping and handling costs. However, on gift packaging I will use only new / undamaged material.

Shipping estimate was too high

If the shopping cart calculates postage too high, I will cheerfully refund any shipping overage in excess of $1.

Sometimes the shopping cart picks the wrong box, or miscalculates in some other way and overestimates the shipping costs, especially when combining listings. Don't worry, I always refund overages.

If you prefer, feel free to contact me prior to ordering and I can give you a more exact estimation for a combined order.
