EarthenWire is taking a short break
Hopefully, I have covered any and all issues that may arise. But, if you haven't found the answer you need in the policies listed below, feel free to contact me for clarification. I should be able to respond within 24-48 hours.
Accepted payment methods
Returns and exchanges
If upon receipt of an order from my ready-to-ship selection, the buyer decides the jewelry isn't what they hoped for and would like to return it, they have 72 hours from confirmation of delivery in which to contact me. They must wait for for an email confirmation from me before returning the order. The items must be returned in new, unworn condition, with all original packaging and shipped with insurance and a tracking number. The buyer is responsible for all postage fees and the 3.5% Etsy seller's fee. The buyer will then have the option of having the remainder of their money returned or used as a credit towards something else in the store.
If an item is defective (as stones can sometimes be), I will try to replace the item with an identical piece or refund your money. Please see below for replacement information. Please contact me if you have any further questions.
For Large orders, I will consider layaway as a payment option. Please contact me to discuss this method of payment. Regardless, payments must be made in full before any pieces are shipped. If the item is a custom job, production will not begin until payment has been made in full and all design and sizing information has been provided.
If you have placed an order for a ready-to-ship product and then changed your mind and need to cancel it immediately, please contact me within 24 hours of placing the order for a full refund. If an order has already shipped and you wish to return it, all return shipping and insuring costs fall upon the customer. Your money will be refunded, less the original shipping costs and the 3.5% Etsy transaction fee.
A few words about Custom Orders-
Custom orders are one of my favorite aspects of this business. I love to see happy customers wearing one-of-a-kind pieces tailored to their specifications. However, when dealing with these special orders, I have also had to set some additional policies to ensure that there are no issues during the design process. If you have requested a custom piece of jewelry, please remember that I am crafting something specifically for you. It will require extra production time and will most likely be more expensive than a ready-to-ship piece. Upon order placement, we will discuss sizing, the necessary design elements to be incorporated into your jewelry and how much lead time will be necessary to finish your order. A complete payment is required before production begins if the item is on layaway.
(Sales in the state of Illinois are subject to sales tax of 7.35%)
ALL SALES ARE FINAL on Special Sale and Custom Order pieces.
All products will be wrapped in tissue and gift boxed. Your order can also be professionally gift wrapped, with a enclosure card, upon special request. Depending on the size of the order, it will either be packaged in a cushioned mailer or a small box.
All orders ship via USPS Priority Mail with insurance (over $50) and delivery confirmation via online tracking unless another delivery method is preferred. The customer will receive a copy of the tracking information as it becomes available. Please contact me if you need Signature Confirmation, Express Mail or UPS service as they will incur additional costs. Orders over $120 will ship free of charge via USPS Priority mail with insurance and tracking included.
I am sorry to inform you that at this time, I am unable to accept any international purchases. I hope to change this in the near future.
Additional policies and FAQs
Perhaps you don't care for French hooks and would rather have post earrings, or aren't fond of the type of clasp on a necklace or bracelet. Maybe the new bracelet will be a bit tight and needs an extender chain added to the end. Please let me know before you make your purchase. In most designs, I can make small switches like that. A few additional components might add $1-$2 to your overall purchase, but it's much easier and cheaper to let me know now than to ship it back for adjustments. I want to make sure you are satisfied and have a comfortable piece of jewelry.
Everyone hates it when they lose one of their favorite earrings or their favorite bracelet becomes too snug. What to do when that happens? I can try to match an earring or replace parts if the materials are still available for one of my pieces of jewelry. Contact me for price quotes and availability. This is for my creations only. I do not alter another artist's creations for obvious reasons.
I feel I must say this. In the past, I have had less than savory customers try to pass off the intentional mutilation (more than just normal wear and tear) of a piece of my jewelry by saying 'one day it just broke' and expect me to fix or replace it for free. It doesn't work that way. How a client cares for and stores their jewelry is apparent in many ways. I will know if it was abused or whether the break was due to an inferior item or design flaw. If that has happened, I will do what I can to make the situation right. However, If you have broken your jewelry in this way or had it altered by another jeweler, you have assumed full responsibility for it. I can no longer be of assistance if I determine that this has occurred. I reserve the right to refuse service due to any of the reasons listed above.
After the sale- If I haven't heard from a customer after an order has shipped, expect an email. I want to know that my jewelry has arrived at your home safely and that you are pleased. Hopefully I will have met or exceeded your service expectations. If I haven't, please let me know immediately. This wonderful community thrives because of great, active customers and artists. Please leave feedback and let me know how I am doing.
