About

Designs, from nature, to you.

EarthMother Designs is natural, earthy, and empowering.
Clothing the body, nurturing the soul.
Designs, from nature, to you.

A handmade wardrobe does more than just clothe the body. It nurtures the soul, it speaks to others of who you are inside, and it expresses the self. It's wonderful to create a beautiful and functional piece from premium fibre grown on our own farm, from animals we care for daily. Each skein of yarn or handmade item has been carefully created, inspired by the beautiful natural landscape in which we live.

Have a wander through my store: handspun yarn, natural and hand-dyed/hand-painted fibre and yarns, fleeces, handwoven and other handmade items, and original artworks, all produced by me in my farm studio at Young, NSW, Australia. Inspired by nature, and created with love.

Additional policies and FAQs
I do my best to accurately depict items and colours. Please note that computer monitors can vary in their colour representation.

My items are handmade with care but will display imperfections and irregularities, as is the beauty and nature of handmade items.
I do my best to remove VM (vegetable matter ie leaves, seeds, hay and sticks) from our fleeces during processing but occasionally some pieces sneak their way into the finished item. I also rinse hand dyed items to remove any excess dye but it is recommended items are washed separately at first to ensure there is no residual bleeding of excess dye. This is particularly the case with items containing sari silk or commercially dyed items.

Handmade garments need to be worn and adored. Stick to a gentle hand-wash with a bit of non-eucalyptus wool wash (eucalyptus can sometimes strip out the dye (grrrr) but is ok for naturally coloured textiles) and rinse in water the same temperature with minimal agitation to prevent felting, then let dry flat. Follow these washing instructions and your handmade textiles and life in general should be rosy. Then, of course, wear your garment again so it feels loved by you.

I usually vacuum-pack fleece to reduce postage costs, so please be careful opening the parcels and be sure to let the air back into the packaging soon after it is delivered so the fleece doesn't compact. Please also note that white fleeces can turn a creamy colour over a period of time, especially when stored in plastic, but this is usually easily removed by scouring.

Our studio is non-smoking and pet friendly. All horses, working dogs and sheep stay in the great outdoors, but Rockett the cat sprinkles his soft fluffy fur around the place, so I cannot guarantee he hasn’t donated some to your project. If you have allergies we want you to stay safe because we love you. :D

I retain copyright on my artwork and own designs.

Thank you! :)
