Tips for taking a good photograph for your silhouette portrait:

1. Have subject stand in front of a simple background, such as an empty wall or door, in a well light space.
2. Hold camera at same level as the subject's eyes and from the right or left side as if taking a picture of their ear. Tilt in your camera angle can change how I understand the shape of the subject's face, and I want to be sure your portrait turns out perfect!
3. Don't smile! Have subject look forward with a relaxed face and closed mouth.
4. Style hair how you would like it to look in the final product. If circumstances don't allow you to do this, please provide additional photos of the subject showing the preferred hair style to use.
5. Take lots of photos - The more you can send me, the better!

Baby/Toddlers: Occupying your kiddo with a movie or TV is an easy trick to grabbing some shots while they're sitting still. Again, the more pictures you take the better for me, and no worries if they're moving around and the shots aren't all alike or as straight-on as they might be with an older child.

Pets: Best way to get a shot of your pet is to have someone else occupy their attention. Have them sit and hold a treat or toy to keep them focused while someone else takes the pictures.

If your order is a SURPRISE gift: sometimes photos are hard to nab of your subject, especially if they're the one receiving this gift and you don't want them getting suspicious with your weird picture taking! Great scenarios to snag a quick shot are in the car, while they're watching TV, or on the phone/computer. Also, browse their photos on social media for potential usable images.
