About

The Squirrely One

Parade of Squirrels began in 2008 when Charrow realized the job she wanted did not exist, so she created it herself. Illustration had always been a huge part of her life, but the real art was figuring out how to make her passion into something she could share with others. She had worked at stores that sold cards and gifts in the past and found the selection very limited and the messages were often pretty generic. Charrow is a little weird and often strange things would just come out of her mouth, but would people buy cards that strange things on them? The answer was yes, yes people want cards that say "cat butt" and "I want to eat your brains," and with not too much encouragement Charrow began feverishly creating cards for no occasions (and eventually, occasions). She found an audience that loved her weird puns and demented, but adorable animals. Charrow began selling cards at Joe Coffee on Union Square and eventually her cards were being sold at all the Joe Coffee shops. She began approaching other kinds of stores and as of 2015 she is in 18 stores throughout New York and California. Charrow has expanded her merchandise to include reusable coffee cozies, stickers, temporary tattoos, tote bags, picture books, and art prints.
Charrow currently has over 200 hundred different card styles an inventory that is constantly growing.
