Norbel Marolla made some wonderful earrings with my beads! Her shop is SheFliesAgain on Etsy. Check it out! I still have a few beads similar to these in the shop.
Beads-to-be! The lighter ones were made a couple of days ago and have dried. All were made from the same clay.
I've been making beads again!

About

It's all about color, texture, and personality!

My personal style has always been a little bit, well, eclectic. It’s probably a good thing no pictures exist of some of the outfits I wore in high school. I was what some call an “early adopter” of new styles; sometimes that was a good thing, and sometimes it really was not. That taste was refined (tamed) a bit as I matured, but I never lost my love of beautiful, unusual things to wear, and I never lost my addiction to being surrounded by color.

There was a time when I always wore jewelry, and I had some gorgeous pieces. Styles changed, and I began to notice that the pieces available just didn't have much personality, and didn't add anything to my outfits but cost. So I gave up. My favorite fashion accessories seemed to be cat hair and splashes of clay from my passion for throwing pots.

At least cat hair was free, and clay was cheap. . .

I started my shop in 2013 after deciding I wanted to use my creative skills to make beautiful things for people to wear and to treasure. I'd been viewing work by some very talented jewelry artists on Etsy and other online venues, and I wanted to make beautiful, unusual beads for them to use in their jewelry. I enrolled in the same studio in which I studied in the 80’s and 90’s, and began making rustic beads. Before long, I was hooked, and an interest turned into a passion. To the line of rustic beads, I added a line of pastel beads, then a line of deeply-colored beads. The glaze companies are cooperating nicely by offering new and wonderful ways to combine and create interesting colors.

Today, Eclectic Prairie has become more than I ever dreamed it would be. It’s a rewarding journey, and the best part is having customers who have become friends, and enjoying the satisfaction of providing products that are well-made and inspiring. I’m constantly trying to improve my craftsmanship, as I learn more about how to work with my materials.

I hope you will enjoy looking through my shop, and if you find a couple of things you simply must have, well -- that'll make my day! Welcome, and do let me know if I can answer questions, or if you have suggestions for products.

Above all, here's what I want you to know: I want my customers to always feel happy and satisfied with their purchases. If for any reason you're not satisfied with your beads, whether you bought them last week or two years (or more) ago, I will work with you. One possibility is refunding your money after receiving the beads back; the other is sending or making new beads for you. Just convo me and we'll figure it out!

Shop policies

NO SALE IS EVER FINAL! I like happy customers, so if you've encountered a problem or an issue, let me know and we'll work it out.

COLORS: Monitors lie and so do cameras! I try very hard to post pictures that accurately depict the colors of my beads, but some factors are out of my control. Please read color descriptions, and if you have any questions, convo me. I'm signed into my computer most of the day, and will answer you as quickly as I can. If you receive beads that are not the color you expected, let me know and I'll do what I can to make it right.

RESERVED ITEMS: Reserves can be held for ten days only. Please do not ask me to hold reserves totaling more than $50.

CUSTOM ORDERS: I do not accept custom orders for beads I have to make "from scratch". If you need something you don't see listed, please ask! If I have the beads already made, I'm happy to create a custom order for you.

If you have a reserve or a custom order, the transaction will be completed only through Etsy, per Etsy's policies.

CANCELLATIONS: If I haven't mailed the order, I'll cancel it and I don't need a reason from you! I understand that "life happens". If I have mailed the order, just write "refused" on the package and send me a convo so I'll know what's going on. When it arrives back into my hands, I'll refund your money.

YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION will be used to complete the transaction only. I will not sell or give your name and address to anyone.

Payment
I accept PayPal and Direct checkout on Etsy, which accepts Visa, Mastercard & Discover. You don't have to sign up for anything and Etsy doesn't keep your card information on file. I also accept Etsy gift cards.

Payment must be made in full and cleared before I will ship.
Shipping
I usually ship the next morning after I receive the order, but I list "1-3 days" because life sometimes can get in the way. I ship via USPS unless you contact me about other methods. Our last Saturday pickup is mid-afternoon; after that packages aren't picked up until sometime on Monday. If I can, I'll get orders received on Friday into the mail on Saturday. Otherwise, orders received on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will go into the mail first thing Monday morning.

ARE YOU AN INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMER? I understand that if an order total is over a certain amount, your own country may charge you an extra fee. If you're contemplating ordering and you're over the limit, convo me. Let's see what we can work out!

International shipping: So far, I've had no problems with international orders arriving in a reasonable amount of time. Please keep in mind that conditions between where I live and where my customers live, can affect the time it takes for orders to arrive. Weather events, political issues, customs issues, and individual policies in each country the package passes through, can slow things down. Other sellers tell me that at times, it can take up to 6 weeks for an order to arrive, so I will not make refunds before 6 weeks after shipping. If your package hasn't arrived after 6 weeks, I will work with you to try to find a solution that makes you happy, which could include refunding the entire cost of your purchase.

PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO LIST YOUR PURCHASE AS A GIFT ON THE CUSTOMS FORM!
Refunds and Exchanges
RETURNS: A few of the beads I make are somewhat delicate, and although ceramic beads are pretty sturdy, it's possible they may break in shipment. If this happens to you, I want to know immediately! If I have more in stock, I will ship them at my own expense, right away. If not, I will make some as soon as I can and ship them to you. Please photograph the broken piece - that helps me to be able to duplicate the color of the replacement as close as I can - and attach it to a convo when you contact me.

Please contact me before returning beads or jewelry. You may return your purchase at your expense for any reason, including simply changing your mind. If the return is for a problem of any kind on my part, I will reimburse your shipping costs to you along with the purchase price upon receipt of the package. Refunds are given via the original method of payment only. There is no time frame for refunds, whether it's because of a problem on my end, or whether it's for your own reasons.

PRODUCT QUALITY: I try to carefully inspect each and every bead before I list it, but occasionally I may miss things. While handmade items are expected to have occaisional imperfections, if you receive something you think is less than what it should be, I will work with you to make it right - make you a new one, refund your money, or replace with a substitute product.

GUARANTEE: My beads are guaranteed for as long as I'm in business. If you've made jewelry for yourself, a friend, or a customer and one of my beads breaks for any reason, I will replace it at my own cost. Keep in mind, however, that due to factors beyond my control, such as glaze companies discontinuing some of their glazes, I may or may not be able to duplicate the bead exactly. For my rustic (brown clay) pieces, I do not have complete year-round access to the kiln that fires them, so lag time in getting the replacement may be substantial.
Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS: I am not taking custom orders at this time. If I have what you want in stock, I'm happy to create a reserved order and sell it to you, but I am not accepting orders that would involve any beads or components that are not already made. There's nothing I'd like to do more than meet every request of my customers, but my current schedule does not allow it. Maybe someday . . .!

ALL SALES of listed items go through my Etsy shop! Please don't ask me to remove an item and sell it to you some other way. That's a violation of Etsy's policies.

COPYING: I work very hard to make one-of-a-kind products with creativity and competence. If you are a bead or jewelry artist and you believe something I'm offering has been copied from your work, please contact me. People are more important than things, and I will work with you to resolve the situation in a manner in which we both are comfortable, if I possibly can.
