About

Eden Art Glass and Artisan Findings

I started my shop in 2011 when I realized I had so many beads that I would never be able to use them all. And all I wanted to do was make more. My sister, Polly, said "why don't you sell them on Etsy?" It seemed an impossible task, but it all came together.

I also made my own findings from bronze clay, an easy transference from years of working with polymer, for a line of jewelry I was making. I experimented with creating patinas, and started to add patinas to all the findings I made. My team member and brother in law, Kurt, took some clasps, bails, and wrap beads to a bead show in Atlanta - more as an afterthought than anything else - and we sold all we had. I stayed up all night and made more.

Polly, my sister who does all the listing and shipping, wanted to have jump rings to use with the findings. She bought a jump ring maker and some wire, and I'll never have to buy jump rings again.

For all of us who are compelled to make things, Etsy is a Godsend. It is a thrill to sell items you've created to people who will use them in items they create.

I live in a house in Georgia with my 4 dogs and 2 cats (not including a stray I picked up who had a litter of kittens, 3 of which haven't found new homes as of yet.) I make the Lampwork beads, bronze clay findings, and fused glass cabs.

I am Jill's (younger:)) sister -and assistant. I live in a little house in the woods in Washington State. I take the photos, list the items, and do the shipping. I help Jill with the metal patinas. For fun I make jump rings and headpins.

When I'm not fishing I'm a freelance artist. I do the cold enameling and acid etching, punch out the metal, cut the metal, and carry things. I live with my wife, Polly, in Washington State.
