About

Wedding, Portrait & Cityscape Painter of Lasting Works of American Realism

The thing that ties together my work, whether it's made out of paint, pencil, or digital ink, is my involvement as witness in the creative process. I love painting and drawing from life and am particularly enamored of the process of sitting before a person or object or scene and rendering it on the spot. I feel a communion with the subject of my work that I can best approximate as meditation or prayer -- the process of being one with the observed.

I love painting people, so if you would like a wedding, party or live event painted, or just your portrait, let me know.

Every now and then, I attend figure and fashion drawing sessions and post my digital iPad sketches to my website.

Thanks for visiting my shop.

Welcome to my world of painting. The painter, Chuck Close, sometimes refers to painting as a performance art except that few people are around during the performance and the painting becomes the residue of the performance. I love this description and I want to share the residue of my performance with you by offering for sale some of the paintings that I have had the greatest pleasure painting.
