Announcement   e. b. vintage offers original historic art images of European and American cities and other nostalgic photos from the past for home and office decor or gifts.

Evoking feelings of nostalgia is the passion that drives us here at e.b. vintage.

These original negatives that I own are the medium I use to express that longing for past places and things. Unless otherwise stated, these are all images that I have processed digitally from the original negative. I don't get any of these from the public domain, and I don't take previously published images and change them. These are available from e.b. vintage and nowhere else.

I hope you find ones that you enjoy or that you know someone would enjoy as a gift. I have experienced great pleasure in presenting them here for you.

I ordered all 4 illustrations as a gift for my husband graduating a fire academy. They arrived in a timely manner and I framed them and they look great! My husband absolutely loved them!!

About

Stumbling across Nostalgia

You never know where an email will lead...

I run the website for my local photography club, so when someone writes a note in the "contact" section, I am the one who reads it and responds.

One day I got an email from a local woman whose 95-year-old grandfather had passed away. She wanted to donate his old darkroom equipment to the club, and if we couldn't use it, she wanted advice on who might want it.

Even though our club had no need for any of the items--or any place to store them even if we did--out of curiosity I agreed to come by and check out what he had accumulated over the years.

Wow!

To tell you that I was overwhelmed when I walked into that room would be an understatement. Lining the walls there were boxes upon boxes of Kodak Slide Carousels full of slides that he had taken beginning in the 1940s.

And they were preparing to throw them all away!

I was particularly drawn to the boxes marked "Paris, 1949" and "England, 1949" and next thing you know, I am hauling home a number of boxes of slides.

Two things struck me as I looked through them:

1. These are really cool old images! Look at the cars! Look at the fashions!

And...

2. Maybe I could have the coolest ones scanned and sell them as prints!

And so it began.

Before long I was back to take the rest of the slides from the man's estate just before they were dumped in the trash. I estimate that I was 30,000 slides that I brought home that day.

I have since accumulated more slides and negatives from other sources (don't throw them away! Call me!) and now most of my current Etsy inventory is a mix of slides I found that day and new ones I have obtained.

I am having a great time!

Evoking feelings of nostalgia is the passion that drives e.b. vintage. It is a feeling I often try to capture in my photography through e.b. image, so expect to find plenty of vintage art prints and photography-related decor. Whether it's a poster of an iconic European travel spot or the occasional unique retro find, my hope is that you will find something that evokes those nostalgic feelings in you.

Shipping
My promise to you is to ship your item ASAP. Through various online sales outlets, I have never had a problem meeting shipping deadlines, and I don't expect that to change here on Etsy.

My vintage photos will be coming to me from my professional lab and I check them for quality and correctness before shipping them on to you the very same day. In general, your item should arrive in one week from when it was ordered.

The lab ships out anything smaller than 11x14 through USPS.

I will ship outside of the U.S., but I need your address first so that I can get the price from my photo lab and they need an exact address.
Refunds and Exchanges
I was a customer service manager in the retail sector for 13 years, so I know how to keep customers happy. If you didn't get what you expected, I will do what it takes to make you happy or refund your money. I only ask that I get a chance to fix any problems first. Sound fair?
Additional policies and FAQs
Dealing with photographic prints, there can be a lot of variables. I can't possibly list each item in all the possible sizes, matting, or framing options. This is where you just contact me and we figure out your needs together. I like special requests (so far).
