Welcome to Elizabeth Kline Designs.
Roots. Vines. Rivets. Pylons. Natural & industrial forms inspire me in equal measure. I focus on creating sculptural designs in my work by casting abstract sculpture, forging chains and mixed metal focal points, and adding textures, gemstones & vintage glass for color, shape, movement & balanced asymmetry. I use silver, gold-filled, bronze, and copper: each with its individual properties for unique works.

You can also see my portfolio at www.elizabethklinedesigns.com.

Uniquely beautiful earrings, designed by a very talented metalwork artist. I am the proud owner of several of her designs. Love her work!

About

I am a metalsmith and wax artist.

I am inspired by both the natural world - the chaos of roots, the shapes and contours of leaves, stone and grass – and the modern, urban one – hammered textures, rivets, stitching and etched materials. I love how metals can bridge both worlds in that they can have very clean lines and angles, but also have intricate texture, patina, and curvature that is more in line with natural forms.

I make sculptural designs as centerpieces in my work, combining metals with gemstones and glass to give movement and interesting color contrasts. I use various techniques (lost wax casting, soldering, forging, etching, riveting and stitching) to create lightweight pieces that make a bold statement.

Making work with shape and dimension, I combine metals with gemstones and vintage glass to give movement and interesting color contrasts. My pieces are meant to have lightness, but make a bold statement.

I build my jewelry pieces to be one-of-a-kind; I never use a pattern or repeat a casting using a mold. Each piece is meant to stand alone as a unique work, much like the forms in nature I am inspired by.

I use recycled materials whenever possible, be it metal via casting, or giving new life to vintage beads and gems.

I have been exhibiting in festivals since 2009. Since then, my work has been carried by a number of boutiques in Illinois, New Jersey and Maine.
