About

A love of tools, art, design, and style. Born to be a metalsmith.

I have always wanted to be an artist since I could use a pencil or squeeze play doh. I was the cliche; often distracted, immersed in my imagination, playing alone in the woods, messy, curious, both shy and full of attitude and ideas. Not much has changed😉
I took my first metals class in High school at the Interlochen Arts Academy and knew I had found my medium. It was both rough and fluid and I loved its lesson of balance in contrasts.
I graduated in Visual arts and went on to study at the Cleveland Institute of Art where I discovered among many things Enameling. Since then bringing color to metals has been a passion.
My daily inspiration comes from the metal itself, its properties and process. I like to let the material show off its natural raw beauty with simple shapes and lines. I approach jewelry as one would sculpture always thinking about the space it will occupy. How can I enhance the beauty of the bodies curves? How will it frame in the face?
Lastly I turn to nature for all lessons in design and beauty. It inspires me, quiets me, and humbles me.
