About

Elemental Urchin is a place I can share my adventurous spirit as well as my artistic spirit.

Born and raised in artistic talent, my passion has taken me through all different mediums of art. My favorite and most cherished art form is clay. It is a form of earth that I touch with my own hands, taking me back to the roots of life. I have a strong passion and deep connection to the ocean and all it inhabits, as well as a vast love for expanding mountains and forests. Nature inspires me on many different levels and it is something I strive to incorporate in my work.

All elements on this good, green earth have connections with us. For me, it is a memorial connection. When I travel, or go on a small homeland adventure, I collected objects that I feel a connection with. It is a feeling of being at a specific beach, mountain hike, reef dive, or forest stroll that I will remember forever by creating a one-of-a kind work of art.

The process of creation is what is special to me, while the outcome is special to you. What is this world if not a symbiotic relationship, not only to earth and sea, but to you and me.

The main thing you will find in my shop at this time is pendants for jewelry and small, natural sculptures here and there. I am working towards bigger and better things on a daily basis. There will be much more to come from Cheryl Lee and her art! :)

Artistic talent runs through my veins thanks to my talented mother and grandmother. Since I was small, art has been my way of life and my true passion. Everything I create comes from deep within my soul and holds the fingerprints of my creativity.

If the item purchased is received damaged please contact me with photos of how it arrived and I will let you know if it needs to be sent back or not. If the item was broken during transit, I will offer a refund or partial return depending on how the item is damaged. I pack all my items with the up-most care to ensure that this does not happen.

If something happens to break from being dropped or for other reasons, a return will not be offered- but I will fix the item for free if it is fixable. The buyer will be accountable for return shipping.

Please note that if something is returned for a refund or to be fixed and it arrives in more damage than shown via photos- you will not be entitled to a refund. If you are worried about something like this happening, I suggest you purchase shipping insurance on the item when you ship it back to me. This is typically only a matter of an extra dollar or so.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please be sure to scroll through all photos and read the item details as reference to the sizes, shapes, and colors.

The type of modeling component used is very durable but it should still be handled with care- just as any jewelry or art should...after all, this is both, wearable art. :)

FAQs

Do you do custom orders?
A: They were offered at one point but as of right now, I am closed to custom orders to keep up with my shop and free creative flow.

Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes! I can ship anywhere needed.

What type of material do you use?
A: I get asked this question a lot! I use clay- but it is not polymer clay, it is a stronger clay I spent years of school researching and mix together myself. As for the natural objects in my works, I collect many myself from ocean dives, beach strolls, mining excavations, etc. The options are amazing and close to my heart as they are pieces found in nature with my own two hands.

Your nature lockets, are they cruelty free?
A: Yes! The insects, wings, bones, etc are all collected after an animal has passed on from this life. I find most in my travels and adventures- but some are given to me by friends who have also found them in their travels.

When are your shop updates?
A: Typically every Friday or two- depends on what I am making throughout the week. To see works in progress, you can go to my Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/elementalurchin
This shows what I work on week by week and gives you exact dates and times of my future updates.
*My updated items tend to sell rather quickly, so this is a perk to knowing the dates and times if there is a specific piece of art you have been oogling ;) *

I am always available for questions but I get many messages and sometimes it is very hard for me to keep up. So if you have a question that can be answered in this FAQ- I may be a bit late to answer it. Or if you have questions regarding my materials, products and techniques- I am happy to share for the most part, but every artist has their secrets and has spent time developing their trade.
