Updates

I'm so happy with these coasters featuring four of my citrus illustrations! The grapefruit might be my favorite, but check out the listings to see the other designs. The coasters are super absorbent so they're both pretty and functional!

About

Watercolor Illustrations - Tiny Things and Botanicals - from Lauren J. Perwas

Hello! I'm Lauren J. Perwas and I want to welcome you to my shop! "El" and "jae" don't simply represent my initials; my parents named me after my grandmothers, Loretta and Jessie. My family has always been supportive and I wanted to bring their love into this endeavor.

I try to appreciate the small things we encounter in life and then spotlight their uniqueness and beauty in my paintings. I enjoy painting botanical/nature works, small everyday objects, and food. If the subjects for the paintings are small, often the paintings are also small. That's why a lot of the prints are mini print exclusives rather than larger prints.

ACEO stands for: Art Card Originals and Editions. These tiny pieces of art are not only adorable, but they also provide a way to collect artwork without breaking the bank!

I also love creating custom artwork. There is always a story behind the painting and I feel honored to be a small part of that.

A little more about me:
Instead of taking up a sport as a child, my parents enrolled me in art lessons. I remember my mom shopping around for a good studio and teacher. She found a newly opened art studio, so newly opened that I was the owner's first student outside his family. For many years, my Saturday mornings were spent drawing, painting, and learning. It was truly a wonderful experience and I think about what my art teacher taught me every time I sit down to paint. We often painted from life, and I found being able to look at the same object from multiple angles to be very important. I still tend to prefer seeing an object, being able to hold it and turn it around in my hands, over using a picture for reference.

I hope you find inspiration not only from the artwork in my shop, but also from the small things in your own life!

NOTE: If you came here looking for skirts, that part of my crafty life is currently on hold. However, I hope to open a new shop for them in the future!

Frequently asked questions
Printing, Packaging and Shipping

I print all art prints myself, in my studio/home using high quality dye ink for exceptional color quality and a long print life. I print in batches twice a week in order to get your prints to you as quickly as possible. After printing, I allow the artwork to sit for 24 hours before packaging.

All orders (prints and originals) are packaged in clear, acid free plastic envelopes and ship in flat, rigid mailers. If you order more than one item, I will place them all in one plastic envelope with tissue paper in between each piece.

Care instructions

I use quality, acid free papers both for my original watercolors and for my prints. Just like other artwork, please try to avoid direct sunlight to protect against fading.
