5 out of 5 starsI've been looking for a basic, solid color dress for a short woman (I"m 5 ft. tall). I thought I would give the short sleeve scoop neck dress a try, because the seller would adjust the length to my specifications. Wow, it's perfect. The fabric is a nice weight cotton knit, and the color (hunter green) is lovely. I plan to order more.

5 out of 5 starsI love this item. I don’t want to take it off it’s so comfortable. The seamstress accommodated my comments to a T. This seller is very accomplished at her craft, listens, and is quick to ship. Will be purchasing more colors.

The Denim Architect Skirt. I made the first one in 2008 after my son was born and it's still one of my best sellers.

Did you know that I wash and dry every yard of fabric before I cut and sew it? Yep, that's a lot of laundry!
From the Prairie and Back
I grew up in a small town in North Dakota and was always encouraged to be creative. My mother taught me to sew when I was very young and I can remember helping her pick out little scraps to sew into the most fashionable doll clothes. I have always loved colors, patterns, and textures, so I naturally gravitated toward craft and design. I also really enjoy making things with my hands and the ability to sketch, draft, cut and sew up a design in a matter of hours!
My high school sweetheart and I (now married!) went to college in Boston, MA, opened up a clothing boutique in San Diego called Ellaina Boutique, and did a stint in the shoe industry in Portland, OR. We have lived all over the country gathering bits of creativity with each stop. I design and draft all of my own patterns, do all the cutting, sewing, packaging, and shipping myself. I work mostly with stretch fabrics, like cotton and rayon jersey, because they are so versatile and washable! I order most of my large fabric rolls from Los Angeles and from other Etsy sellers when possible. I love what I do and am so happy to be sharing my designs with you :)

Care instructions
I pre-wash and dry all of my fabrics to minimize any shrinkage for you. Most of the fabrics I use are 95% cotton 5% lycra, which can be machine washed warm and tumble dry low. I sew care tags into all of my garments for you to reference.
Sizing details
Most Garments are Made To Order. Please allow 7-10 days for your item to be sewn. Included in each listing are standard size measurements, which are simply a guideline, if you would like to include your personal measurements in the notes to seller box during checkout, I will be sure to make you the best fit ~ if you have any questions feel free to ask :)
Gift wrapping and packaging
I wrap all orders in kraft tissue paper and tie it nicely with string. I use tear proof mailers for the smaller orders and USPS priority boxes for larger. I do my best to keep packaging minimal to avoid waste and reduce shipping costs.
Custom and personalized orders
Most items become custom, because I make most items as they are ordered and I always encourage you to include your measurements if possible.
Whether you purchase a Ready to Ship item or a Made to Order item, I will still gladly accept them back for exchanges or refunds. I certainly understand online shopping is tricky and I want you to be happy with your handmade garments :) I am always available to answer any questions, and help you with this process as best as I can!
