Bringing you industrial romance with specialty Steampunk and Victorian-Inspired Jewelry

I have always had an affinity for pocket watches and neo-Victorian design.

Horology runs in the family, as my grandfather was an avid collector of old pocket watches and my great uncle was a watch maker. For me, choosing to work with a medium that I am deeply attached to and that reminds me of someone very dear to me, has made my work extremely rewarding and personal.

My designs incorporate vintage watch movements and clockwork, brass, antiqued silver, Victorian and Elizabethan stampings and castings, turn of the century decorative hardware and special charms & adornments. When working on a new piece I am inspired by the beauty of the clockwork, thinking of the function it had before as a hidden object and transforming it to something that will become special to whoever wears it.

Each piece is created and designed in my home studio. While I do most of my business here on Etsy (I have been here for 5 years!) I do welcome wholesale orders.

WHAT IS STEAMPUNK?
Maybe you’re wondering what exactly ‘steampunk’ is and what it means. Steampunk is a variation of science fiction (inspired by the novels of Jules Verne, H.G. Wells and Mary Shelley- to name a few) and more of an idea of an alternate history. It is the result of asking what today’s technology would look like if it was designed by people living in the early 19th century/Victorian era-- typically using the ideas of steam power and clockwork mechanisms. Aesthetically I am inspired by Edwardian, Victorian, Elizabethan, and Gothic eras; the idea of balance working with asymmetry; and the materials I choose to work with. My designs incorporate vintage watch movements and clockwork, brass, antiqued silver, victorian and elizabethean stampings and castings, turn of the century decorative hardware and special charms & adornments. And if you have ever seen the inside of a watch, you know how the most intricate, special and beautiful parts are hidden inside.
