I grew up in an inventive family. I put my feet up on a chicken coop turned coffee table as a child. We had bushel baskets from the family farm as our trash cans (people visiting often couldn't locate the trash receptacle!) I purchased my first vintage hat at 15, and in the years following, discovered the joy of thrifting. My mother would often find me rooting around for materials and supplies for various projects my creative brain had dreamed up... my parents swore that being a trash collector WOULD be the perfect job based on what i could create out of nothing special! Creativity runs in my family, as both my grandparents were also inventive. My grandmother leapt from one craft to the next, and my grandfather was a WW2 mechanic, that had a lifelong passion for "how things work". He also gardened, while she cooked and crocheted. I enjoy upcycling as a part of a project!
