I am Emma Lysyk, and I own and operate Em2a Studios – a Phoenix, Arizona-based Graphic Arts & Creation Studio and home of EmaCartoon.com: A Webcomic of Art & Life. Specializing in laser engraving and vinyl decals, my team and I make a variety of miscellaneous geekery items and are available for commission and prototyping. Having worked in a production shop and a marketing house, I utilize my acquired knowledge to produce all items you see here, and any custom items. The shop currently exists in my converted office, on the kitchen table, and sprawled all over the coffee table.
With the 2014 addition of TechShop in Chandler, I now have access to the greatest technology in the land as well as the existing technology at a much larger scale. This includes a wider vinyl plotter, larger laser engraver, the addition of an embroidery machine, large format printer, 3D printer, silkscreener, sandblaster, etc. When not hidden away in my home studio, I can often be found at TechShop.
Everything is done at Emma's hand, and packaged by either myself or my VP of Operations, Guillermo.
In addition to Emma and Guillermo, ideas and support come from a variety of places. Special shout-outs go to Amanda L., Amanda M., Leigh, Leslie, Maria, Michael, The NeTGoD, and Paul. Thanks for all your support (and patience) in the busiest of times!
Owner, Maker, Designer
Emma (n.) Capricornus - The one who runs the show: making items, cutting vinyl, designing things, and doodling on the walls. Like any artist, she loves to create, take walks on the beach, and get lost in the mountains.
Curator, VP Of Operations
Guillermo (n.) Libra - The one who makes sure the orders get out if Emma gets stuck on the roof because someone took the ladder down (again). Likes long walks on the beach, Xbox, and Indian food.
Yang - The one who yells at Emma for working too hard, and reminds her to share her food. Also known to steal any warm seat. Likes tuna, ear scritches, and rolling in the dirt.
Yin - Loud talking go-getter of a cat. Earned every one of his stripes, and will tell you all about it. Likes feathers, cuddling on the couch, and massages (but he'll never admit it).
Sheba - The "good" shop cat. Likes perching on window sills, chicken, and string.
Sam - "Baby Cat". The one who perches on top of the bookcase and keeps an eagle-eye view on those beneath her. Likes wrestling, bird watching, and beating up on her Quality Control guy.
Ash - "Godzilla". Tests the quality of items by subjecting them to high pressure testing. Great at destroying things. Likes cuddles, catnip, and digging. Personal quote: "One day, I will end that little red bug!"
Breic (pronounced "Breck") - The one who manages what falls on the floor. Likes pig ears, ear scritches, and belly rubs.
My Etsy shop is where I sell my originals, prints, postcards, and any of the multitudes of other crafty things I create in my spare time.
My jewelry is called Candy Box Jewelry, as I ship them out in their own candy boxes or tins filled with tissue paper. I do believe strongly in recycling and working towards a greener living, but I also love to collect and reuse pretty trinkets. It was a natural switch that I hope brings you as much enjoyment as it does me.
Yes, I do take requests for custom items. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Additional policies and FAQs
Please expect a couple days before I can make you the item ordered. Depending on the intricate nature of some pieces, they could take a while to make. Please be patient if going this route. If you have a deadline, please make me aware of it when requesting the item. I will do what I can to accommodate both of our schedules.
For custom laser engraved items, I will always send a proof. Mock ups available upon request.
Wholesale & consignment:
I am available for wholesale & consignment. Please send me a message if interested.
For all items, I can guarantee that it will look a lot like what's photographed, unless otherwise noted. Since I make everything myself, some variance can and will occur. If you would like me to e-mail you a photograph of the exact item, I am more than willing to do so. Just let me know!
I can also guarantee that stuff happens. Depending on circumstances, I will try my best to work with you.
Frequently asked questions
Where are you located?
I am located out of my home studio in Mesa, Arizona. I can also occasionally be found at various sci-fi and comic conventions all around North America, but I'm starting to cut down on how many I do in a year.
I can also sometimes be found travelling with Modelers or Mice. Marti is a good friend who knows how to hunt me down and make me make stuff.
EIN, Mesa & Arizona state tax licenses available upon request.
Hey! I hear you make these super cool sci-fi space name badges for cosplayers. Where can I get these?
I love you guys!
If you haven't found it yet, start here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/214217563/geek-badges-and-name-plates
or here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/192609385/clear-acrylic-dog-tags-custom
It's pretty easy - start your order, type up all text you want in it (I copy and paste because my left hand is faster than my right - talk about typos!), put that in your "Comments" section on your order, and send away!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me (sometimes it takes more than 24 hours to respond). You will *always* get a proof before I mail it out so we both know you're getting what you want.
