From Hobby to Craft to Business

Hi! Welcome to Touch of the Fae (Previously Ember's Rainbow Rings!)
My name is Ember and I am originally from California, but moved to the Oregon coast a few years ago and opened my business as a side adventure. Originally called Ember's Rainbow Rings, I specialized in handcrafted, colorful chainmaille jewelry made with a rainbow of anodized aluminum rings (hence the name). This side venture proved to be a lot of fun for me, and was an amazing hobby that paid for itself (and more).
During the tough times of Covid-19, Ember's Rainbow Rings found a wonderful niche in costume elf ears, which I would pierce and add all sorts of fun jewelry to! This grew into a much more substantial business for me, and only added fuel to the fire of my love for all things Fae/Fairy/Fairytale. So, after much deliberation, it was decided that the business needed a new turn! I wanted to be able to spread my creative wings (pun intended) and expand the business into something more than just chainmaille. And so, here we are!
Touch of the Fae offers all sorts of Fae themed accessories and gifts, such as jewelry and costume pieces made with custom chainmaille and scalemaille, costume elf/fairy ears with or without piercings, colorful hair extension pieces made with recycled and thrifted yarns, and more! We also have plans to add even more fun things in the future, so stay tuned! Please feel free to reach out with any comments or questions that you may have, and happy shopping!

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

I specialize in custom orders and am happy to make something new! I have listings designed specifically to make custom orders easier. However, if you do not find what you are looking for in the shop, I will be happy to try and accommodate for what you need. Just send me a message here on Etsy or through my facebook page and we can figure out how to make you exactly the piece that you are looking for!

Sizing details

All of my premade pieces are fitted to a 7" wrist, 15" Neck, and 10" Ankle. If a premade piece is the wrong size, please send me a message when you place your order. I will happily resize most pieces up or down within an inch or two.

Care instructions

My pieces are made with anodized aluminum rings and require little to no care. The coating created in the oxidation process also means that the rings of my jewelry are hypoallergenic to all but the most sensitive of skins. They are tough enough for everyday wear and should not be damaged by body oils, water, chemicals, etc. The clasps and Earring hooks used are Stainless Steel and should not cause any irritation or discoloration. If a piece is particularly delicate and must be worn with some care, a note will be made in the listing for that specific piece.

Packing Slips

Because Etsy includes all of the information digitally that is generally contained on a paper packing slip, we have decided to refrain from including paper packing slips anymore. We feel (and many of our customers have agreed) that it is a needless waste of paper (and a strain on the environment) in most cases. If the order is large, complicated, includes a gift with a special message, or is specifically requested by the customer, we will happily include one! Otherwise, we will refrain and save our customers the trouble of trying to Recycle the paper.
