Announcement   I always liked to do something in applicable art. Shape and form is a

canvas of a design. My goal is to design wearable art combining my

original canvas artwork with the centuries old traditional embroidery of

the Ukraine and Europe . After experimenting with the designs on

different material I discovered that I can do it on fabrics as well. We

are a little boutique atelier Ukraine has a small 3 person studio work

shop. My art back ground helps me implement artwork to wearable

embroidered ladies apparel. In my mind, the basic dress is nothing

more than an artist’s canvas . The embroidery art is the translation of

art work into unique wearable apparel. We do create dresses from the

clients ideas as well, meticulously adjusting patterns and sizes. Each

piece becomes is a wearable rendition of art embroidery. First it starts

with an idea and the mood and the color of garment, then a sketch,

then after trial and error it becomes a dress. The process is long and

elaborate, to create a design, to fit pattern to the garment on the paper

first and then embroider and sew the dress after that. Sometimes I

need to adjust a pattern to fit the client needs. Often I discuss patterns

with a client and follow their desire for the designs as well.

In the shop we have 1 seamstresses and 2 embroiderers. We use hand

techniques and machinery as well to sew and embroider. In our work

we use mostly a European linen that is available locally. That material

allows as to make the most intricate detailed patterns without warping

and distorting fabric. Not all fabrics are good as an embroider base.

Steaming before embroidery allows fiber of linen to shrink a bit to

except a threads. After embroidery process we need to steam linens to

set embroidery, so when customers wear it, will not experience

warping of the fabric under the threads. It takes about four times of

steaming, but at the end it makes the garment more durable so clients

can hand wash without material warping under the embroidery. Also

we do custom patterns and fittings, because people do come in a

different sizes. We are doing a knitting work as well. We are planning to enlarge our

business by doing a shoe line with embroidery. We are participate in local craft festivals.
