After the birth of my 3rd daughter in 2009 I began crocheting. She was a preemie with lots of extra needs, including warmth! I wanted her to have a few adorable hats to sport around in and had not found anything I loved.

I had a vision in my head... so I purchased some hooks and yarn and watched some videos and before long her first couple hats were ready. I couldn't believe the responses we received everywhere we went. Friends started ordering hats, people wanted business cards everywhere we went.

So I opened my little shop in Dec. 2009. After that it was a very slow process. Months went by with 1 order, if that... which really was great because I had a very special little bundle to care for at home. Then in Sept. 2010 something crazy happened... the orders just started rolling in... I couldn't keep up! I made 75 owl hats in 6 weeks (among hundreds of other hats), and believe me I never wanted to make another owl hat for the rest of my life!

I realized I couldn't keep this up... others needed to make their own hats too. So I wrote the pattern and listed it to see what would happen... wow! It started selling like crazy too!

That is when I knew; I love to create... I just don't really love to re-create. I love the creative process of making a new hat pattern, I just don't want to make that same hat 100 or more times. I get sucked into the creative process of a new idea and just can't rest till it has come to life, literally! I love a challenge! Before I knew it I had over 50 individual patterns in my shop and that number continues to grow weekly. A pattern shop is exactly what God had in store for me I just never would have guessed that 3 years ago... but I love my "job" and wouldn't want to do anything else!
