About

Emma Dickie Design

I dream of one day owning my own little tea room and handmade gift shop, but until then I have my online boutique! I love all kinds of crafting including making jewellery, knitting scarves and hats and creating cross stitch patterns and Emma Dickie Design has steadily grown from a small jewellery outlet into a one stop shop for all of your gift ideas and personal treats!
For me, selling online is a constant learning process and I am loving developing my shop and reaching my customers in new ways through social media. I started the Emma Dickie Design blog to keep followers up to date with new products and share my favourite Etsy shops from around the globe. I'm actually quite shy in person so social outlets such as Twitter and Facebook are a great way for me to communicate with the world without so much as a blush!
The best part about having an online shop is hearing from potential customers with custom orders. I love making every one of my pieces but there is something special about creating a unique and bespoke piece for someone across the other end of the globe.

I'm a paralegal by day and a crafter by night! I started The Candy Tree back in 2005 after buying a pair of earrings online and deciding to try making my own. On 1 May 2014 The Candy Tree became Emma Dickie Design. And so begins the next chapter!

I accept payment by Direct Checkout and PayPal. You can find more information about PayPal here - https://www.paypal-marketing.co.uk/whypaypal/index.htm (just copy and paste the link into your browser).

Please note that custom orders and items which have already been marked down in price (either via Etsy on Sale or as part of a permanent sale/clearance) are not eligible for further coupon code reductions.
Shipping
Upon receipt of payment your purchase will be carefully packaged and dispatched within the timescale noted in the listing via Royal Mail first class post (delivery estimated at 1-2 working days), and International Standard for international orders (delivery estimated at 3-7 working days). Please note that international delivery is known to take longer than the estimated timescales provided by the Royal Mail and can often take a couple of weeks and if your item is delayed in customs for example, delivery could take up to 6 weeks in rare circumstances.

If you are shopping for a gift you can add peace of mind to your order with this tracked postage upgrade - http://etsy.me/PostageUpgrade

You can also select the postage upgrade at checkout. Full details of the international tracked and/or signed service is available here - http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/RM-International-Tracking-Signature-Services-Coverage-April2016.pdf (enter link into a separate browser window).

The buyer is responsible for any customs fees applicable to their purchase.

I re-use jiffy bags when possible to help the environment and I encourage you to open parcels carefully so that you can do the same!

Items are posted to the delivery address provided during checkout and the buyer is responsible for providing the correct address. If an incorrect address is provided I will resend the item (if available) to the correct address at the buyer's expense.
Refunds and Exchanges
Under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, customers in the EU who make purchases online are entitled to a 14 day cooling off period. With the exception of custom orders, and earrings (which cannot be returned for hygiene reasons) I am happy to offer a full refund of any purchases under the following terms:

* The customer makes contact within 14 days of receipt
* Items are unworn
* Items are returned in the same condition as when they were purchased
* Buyer pays for return postage and packaging costs (I recommend obtaining proof of postage for purchases under £20 and using an insured delivery service for more valuable purchases).

The above terms apply to customers outwith the EU, with the exception that original postage costs will not be refunded, unless an item is faulty.

In the event of an item being received damaged or faulty, photographic evidence will be required, and in some cases the item may require to be returned for a full refund or replacement.

In addition to the above, if you are unhappy with your purchase for whatever reason please get in touch straightaway and I will do what I can to rectify any problems.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am always happy to create a custom item. Please get in touch and let me know what you require including timescales and budget. I will set up a custom listing for you and payment is required in full before work will begin.

Please note that I try to depict my items as accurately as possible, however different monitors will show slightly different colours depending on individual settings. Where items are made to order, the product you receive may differ ever so slightly from the item depicted in the listing photographs.
