Love this fuzzy peach ring and matching hair pin! They are both as durable as they are beautiful. Emma is such a talented glass artist. They look so real, the only negative is the fact that I can't eat them! ;)
In 2008, after three successful years at Sheridan where Emma completed the Crafts and Design diploma with high honours she was selected as one of the teaching assistants for this program.
During her first year out of school Emma was accepted into the prestigious exhibition Unity and Diversity held Cheongju International Craft Biennale. She continued to exhibit and refined her craft skills while developing a body of production jewellery and mixed media sculpture.
Later as a resident artist and flameworking instructor at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga Emma created a successful line of humour and thought provoking work. While in residency she was also awarded an individual craft project grant from the Ontario Arts Council.
In addition to her previous studies Emma has completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at NSCAD University studying in the jewellery department. Emma is now excited to build her studio and practice.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Can I contact you with wholesale inquiries?
A: Of course! Please send an email with any wholesale inquiries to emma [!at] emmagerard.com
Is that Real Candy?
No. You would be surprised how often I am asked that. They are all handmade by me using small rods of glass and a torch. Please do not try to eat them, your dentist will be mad.
So when did you start making all this candy stuff anyway?
I started making gummy worms and gummy bears in the summer of 2008, and very quickly other glass candy followed!
How do you make your work?
I use a variety of glass rods to sculpt and create pendants and beads. I begin in most cases by winding glass onto a clay dipped metal rod called a mandrel. From here I use heat, gravity, and a variety of tools to shape the glass. When finished the beads are brought down to temperature in a digitally controlled kiln.
Do you use molds when creating your work?
Yes and No. All pieces, with the exception of the Swedish Berries, and the Maple candy, are hand sculpted using my control of the heat, and small sculpting tools to add detail. The molds that I do use are hand carved graphite molds that I have made myself using a sandblaster and a small dremel tool. It is really important to me that my work is handmade and one of a kind.
More about my return policy:
Please contact me if you have any issues. Each return is handled on a case by case basis.
If a piece breaks during shipping, please let me know. I do go through the necessary precautions when packing the work to ensure that it is padded nicely for a safe trip.
Also since each pendant is handmade, they are all one of a kind and will have slight differences, I will not accept returns or exchanges based on issues regarding aesthetics. See entries below for examples of this.
return refusal scenario #1
“the colour isn’t exactly the same as what I saw online”
Obviously if you ask for something green and I give you something red, that's a problem. Everyone’s computer monitor is different, so please allow for this.
return refusal scenario #2
"my gummy worm is a funny shape"
I try my best to select the best products out of my stock for you. If you are thinking about buying a product that you think may have many variations and you have a preference please let me know before. i.e - skinny vs fat worm, curly vs squiggly worm. As well accept my creative license to make funny shaped things, it's what I do!
More on Shipping:
All orders are shipped via regular parcel through Canada Post. If you would like to upgrade to Xpresspost which offers a tracking number you must contact me when you order and a new listing will be set up for the upgrade
All items are shipped within 72 hours of payment clearing (excluding weekends and holidays). Packing includes lots of bubble wrap and padding.
Shipping times vary depending on your location. Items often get caught up at the border which can cause minor delays, which I cannot control (though I wish I could)
Please keep in mind that delays in shipping once the package has gone into the postal system is NOT the fault of the maker. Please be polite when voicing your concerns over shipping times.
