Welcome to Emma Symons Art. A small online gallery featuring the work of Lettuce Celery and Hatem Yart. I have been making art work, teaching art and involved in the art world for many years and for such a long time I have been wanting to put affordable work out there which not only looks fabulous but will also put a smile on people’s faces.

Both Lettuce Celery and Hatem Yart create work which is slightly off-beat, a little bit quirky but visually bold and exciting.
Lettuce Celery completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration but never had the patience or the expertise to sustain an entire picture book! She loves exploring painting and drawing and gouache and screen printing are by far her favourite medium. Collage and mixed media get her very excited and she would happily spend all her time pottering in the studio just generally making and creating.

Hatem Yart was born from the overwhelming quantity of art work which can be created in a lifetime and which ends up stored and never looked at. Reluctant to keep spending money and resources Hatem Yart went down the sustainable route of only making art on top of work no longer wanted. Destroying the work underneath gives Hatem Yart’s pictures layers and textures which really add to the new work on top. Inspired by almost everything, Hatem Yart never seems to run out of ideas, though she doesn’t always have the time to realise them.
