About

There once was a girl with some string ...

lol, well in truth, there once were many girls with strings. My great grandmother Vivian had 14 children and coming from Germany you simply did not buy frivolous things like clothing. It was shared, stitched and altered. My mother was taught this valuable skill and it has been past down from generation to generation.

I am fortunate to say that my children didn't even own clothing until they were well into their first year of life. With so much growing and moving about it didn't make sense and I am glad that it was a skill that I not only had but held onto.

With homemade crafting having such a huge impact on my life and upbringing I am so grateful that I am part of a society now that places such a high value on it.
