This painting was a commission for my mother. I bought a copy of the original several months ago, and my mom saw it in August. Judy was thoughtful enough to take time out of her busy painting life and execute another similar (but not identical - it has unique touches to set it apart from the original) work for my mom. The care and passion Judy takes in her work is fully realized in this painting, as she knew it was a memorial to my dad, who died in May. Mom loved the painting, and it is now hanging in her living room next to their wedding photo.

Judy's work always just transports me away from my quotidian life and into another world. This painting was no exception. The colors and composition were just ideal, and the use of light was perfect. I start my day lazily drifting down the river in that painting, and i have never slept better. Thanks, Judy, for allowing us to see a little part of your world.

About

When I realized...

that my childhood dream of marrying New Kid on the Block, Jordan Knight wasn't going to pan out, I decided it was time to fulfill my other dream that had been tugging at me the last few years.

I've always loved getting my hands dirty, even as a kid playing in the dirt with my brother's discarded Hot Wheels. Nowadays, nothing feels better than a couple of hands full of paint...and some on the canvas too. :)

Painting invokes that cozy feeling of contentment. It's sort of like curling up in a soft bed with your favorite blanket on a cold, rainy day with some pizza and reading your favorite book or watching a good movie. It's in those moments, when I feel happiest and all is right with the world.

I owe it all to my dad when he grounded me for 2 months during my sophomore year of high school for failing a 9 week period of Spanish. (Thanks, dad! <--sarcastic tone.) No tv, phone or friends. Just school, homework....and then suddenly Bob Ross and his happy clouds and happy trees gave me a reason to climb out of my depths of despair.

Fast forward several years when I've finally decided to take time to rekindle the flame with my first love, art, and voila! Here we are. :)

So thank you, dad for grounding me and thank you, Bob Ross for introducing me to paint!

    Owner, Painter

Artist of beautiful oil & acrylic paintings and creepy charcoal drawings. I also enjoy being vague as well as other things.

  • Drake

    CCO - Chief Cuddling Officer

Drake is a real Mama's boy. When he's not asking for hugs, Drake can be found watching the Walking Dead and standing guard in front of the toilet when occupied by his human. He's also my go to model when it comes to my acrylic and oil cat paintings.

  • Leonardo DiCATrio

    CEO - Chief Eating Officer

Leo lives up to his name. He is indeed a lover & a playboy. He can't travel far because he's an indoor cat but he still flirts with every dame that comes his way (feline & human) & woos them with his deep thoughts and feelings on abstract paintings.

  • Gandalf the Grey

    CFO - Chief Fluffy Officer

The sweetest kitty you'll every meet. His mighty fur may be intimidating but he's the kitty that is wise and all knowing. He's all about getting back to nature so he's preferential to both oil and acrylic landscape paintings and charcoal drawings.

  • Purrincess Leia

    CSO - Chief Sleeping Officer

As the only girl, she gets what she wants, when she wants it. Leia loves scary movies like Aliens,Terminator & anything that's scary and creepy. Her fave holiday is Halloween & she loves my scary charcoal drawings of creepy landscapes and creatures!
