Announcement   Enchanted Houses are unique, handmade, meticulously detailed heirloom-quality ceramic fairy houses and fantasy aquarium sculptures that you'll hand down for generations. Don't see quite what you're looking for? Contact me about a custom order! To see photos of completed custom orders, go to our Facebook page.

I am happy to ship anywhere in the world; just contact me with your information and I will let you know the shipping fees.

All glazes are non-toxic and permanent; colors will not fade and pieces are outdoor and freshwater aquarium safe. All Enchanted Houses are initialed by the artist.

I carefully pack each piece in right-sized, crush-proof boxes and ship by Priority Mail or Priority Mail International. For certain very delicate pieces I use expandable foam packaging, which increases the shipping charge by a few dollars. This is noted in the description of a piece.

If you live in the Eden Prairie area and would prefer to pick up your item, contact me and I will refund the shipping charges!

Check my shop often, new arrivals are always on the way!

About

Reinventing myself again... From RN to malpractice attorney to risk management author & lecturer now to artist: it's my journey.

To see more about Enchanted Houses, visit www.facebook.com/enchantedhouses for photos of my process, my "studio," and updates on participation in art fairs.

After spending more than 35 years working in healthcare, law and risk management, I now create fairy houses and beautiful watercolors. I love the creative process of taking a lump of clay or blank sheet of paper and turning it into a work of art.

In November 2010 I discovered a new Art Center had opened in my community. I signed up for a couple of clay classes and an artist was born. For the next year I practically lived at the Eden Prairie Art Center during its open studio hours and opened my Etsy shop in late 2011. In January 2013 I took the plunge and bought my own kiln, taking my sculpting to brand new levels.

My studio now is my kitchen counter and table where I hand roll the slabs of stoneware I use to build my creations. I have two small Paragon kilns, my first a cute little Caldera that is just 6-1/2" by 7" inside, about the size of a microwave. My newest addition is an Xpress-66-3 that is a whopping 13" deep and 13" wide inside, allowing me to create larger sculptures. I bisque fire each piece to 1867 degrees, glaze it (primarily with Coyote glazes) and fire it to cone 6 (2245 degrees).

My style is always evolving as I push myself to add new twists and never, ever skimp on the details. From my start making little fairy houses I have expanded to aquarium and terrarium art, allowing me to create lovely mermaids, creepy sea monsters and whatever my imagination can conjure.

Shop policies

Welcome to my shop; please visit often, new items are added all the time. Enchanted Houses are designed to delight all ages. You can be sure your hand-crafted stoneware fairy house or fantasy sculpture will be unique, detailed, and have its own little quirks and charms.

Starting as a lump of raw white or red stoneware, all pieces are carefully sculpted and adorned with dozens of intricate details. Each sculpture is bisque fired to cone 06 then meticulously glazed with up to 25 different colors and fired to cone 5; this firing seals the ceramic allowing the fairy houses to be displayed outdoors or fantasy sculptures in an aquarium without fading or cracking. I do recommend bringing Enchanted Fairy Houses indoors if you (like me) endure harsh winters with below zero temps.

Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders: Contact me about creating a custom order. We can work together on design and colors. Custom orders take 1-3 weeks from purchase date to sculpt, dry, bisque fire, glaze and glaze fire to 2200 degrees. If you have specific colors in mind that require me to create and glaze test tiles or want me to work from a picture, that time will be accounted for in the cost of the project. Custom orders must be purchased before work can begin.
