About

Erin Holmqvist, principal of Pink Robin Studio, brings a passion for quilting and sewing to every project!

My studio is the lower level of our four story townhouse, and has really become our family room. We have two Berininas for sewing quilt tops and gifts, two more for embroidery and a HandiQuilter Avante longarm machine to provide the finish to make my items special. We have more than 3,000 different fabrics and every chance I get to travel I hunt for new fabrics to create special items for the shop.

My husband Rob is a great participant in making the items we sell. Sometimes he is the buyer as he has an eye for unusual fabric. He is always the shipper, and sometimes he helps with construction - usually cutting or ironing. My daughter Maddie is now 17 and always has an opinion. Once in while I get her to help at craft shows, which is awesome, as she is really good at it. My mother-in-law often sews bindings for quilts and anything crocheted or knitted in the shop is from her. And my father-in-law is my builder. He makes me awesome displays for craft fairs.

For many years folks had asked me to sell my quilts and quilted items. In 2013, my nieces were with me for a week and I made them little tote bags for traveling around town and to Florida to visit my parents. They loved them so much, and got so many compliments on them. Many people asked where they bought them, and then asked me if I'd make bags for their kids when they learned that I had made them. That was the push I needed to finally start an Etsy shop. That was 3+ years ago. Since then we have learned a lot, made amazing crafting friends, and expanded our business beyond quilts to include embroidery, quilted gifts, commissioned quilts, and longarm quilting services.
