Note from shop owner Hello friends and valued customers!

I'll be taking a break for few months as I am away working on a TV show. But I'll be back with new vintage finds in November 2022!

Thank you for your patience. See you this fall!

Reinvigorate your space with "Take-Me-Home" treasures for home + garden.

I began my life on esty with a co-owned shop by the name of Ernst & Thistle. My partner and I hand-made vintage inspired homegoods and accessories such as pillows, greeting cards and "join-or-die" flags which were spin-offs from our prop-making days for tv and film like HBO's John Adams.

I still love anything with a time-worn patina but just don't have the room for a full-fledged DIY studio anymore. Instead, I am sharing my passion for unique finds by acquiring actual vintage goods and selling them straight to you. Now it is all about the thrill of the hunt over the joy of watching a piece come into being (though there still will be a few one-of-a-kind goodies that will sneak their way in here from time to time).

Now about the shop name: the word fickle doesn't naturally inspire confidence... it evokes someone or thing that is mutable, Mercurial and ever-changing. While this doesn't describe the quality or timelessness of the items you'll find here, it does describe my decorating habits!

I am constantly bringing some newfound treasure home. Some objects instigate a whole house rearranging and redecorating, others fit neatly amidst other beloved artifacts throughout every room.
But there is never enough space for them all; I am selling my brimming treasures so you too can freshen up your space as often as you feel!

Each piece tells its own story, where it's been, what it's contained, who it's lived with. I want for these treasures to find a happy home. I want them to put a smile on the buyer's face. Acquiring vintage, pre-owned + pre-loved objects is more a form of adoption then purchasing newer, mass-produced products. The items of a bygone era seem to have more integrity and better craftsmanship than a lot of the current market items. The owner is entering into a caretaker contract, honoring the object's history and memory and bestowing a form of love + commitment for years to come. In return, the object will infuse your space with new energy and life.

A self-confessed thrift store/estate sale junkie and fickle interior designer. My home, a circa 1930s little white cottage, is rearranged often, and my style changes (from rustic farmhouse to boho global) with the constant influx of new fab finds.
