About ERSCreative

Sales 144
On Etsy since 2009

If I can't live in a fairy tale forest, I will make one with pods and twigs and animals from jewelry

I have always had 'itchy hands' I have to put them to good use, or they'll put themselves to a destructive one. So I have always been 'crafty' and as I grew up I became 'artsy'. I went to school for Ceramics, but fell in love with metal as well.

As I struggled to find my place in the world, I found people really responded to jewelry I made, and it made me feel wonderful! One day my husband looked at me frantically searching for a new 'real' job and said: 'I don't understand: You're going to make this stuff anyway, why don't you just do it for a living?' And that was it! ERS Creative was born.

I gather most of my inspiration from my environment. Whatever I am surrounded by is what begins to inform my work. When I visit friends in Northern California and Oregon, I come back with pockets full of moss, leaves, seed pods and other flora, and I’m ready to make fluid, soft organic pieces.

But a week in New York or San Francisco and suddenly I see clean lines, geometry, saturated colors and hard edges.

I think that’s why living in Los Angeles works so well for me, I can find so many different sources of inspiration and I can choose the environment that speaks to what I’m already working on.

  • Eilen R Stewart

    Owner

Born in a small town outside Moscow, and raised in Santa Monica, CA, Eilen received her MFA in Ceramics/Metals. Eilen lives and works in Los Angeles, where she draws her inspiration from city life and nature excursions.

Production partners

  • Caster

    Los Angeles, CA

While I cast many of my own pieces, I cannot always accommodate larger production runs. For this I use a caster across the street from me. She takes my waxed work and casts it into metal and I then clean it up, solder it and turn it into jewelry
