5 out of 5 starsI bought this adorable bear cub piece for some family members as a Christmas gift, and the artist was able to use a piece of glass with their favorite colors for it! They also kept me updated throughout the process of making it and shipping it. I am really really grateful for that care, and it looks amazing, like a lovely sunset!

5 out of 5 starsI first saw Jim's work when I was visiting Michigan this past summer and couldn't stop thinking about it. When Christmas came around, I just knew I had to buy something from him for my sister, who loves all things glass and lighthouses. Even though I ordered this piece a little too close to arrive on time for Christmas, Jim still managed to get it done and shipped to me two weeks ahead! It is stunning. I pride myself on my gift giving skills and enjoy giving much more than receiving. This is by far the gift I am most excited to give this year!

5 out of 5 starsThis was my 40th birthday present to myself and I love it!!! It looks great, and was a smooth ordering process. My kids and I love watching the changing light through the glass! (and as a side benefit I’m hoping it will keep birds from crashing into the window in the future)

E-scape Art Glass is the result of James Veenstra's creative escapes into the landscapes of nature.
ABOUT E-SCAPE ART GLASS
James Veenstra established E-scape Art Glass back in 1986 as a creative outlet for his artistic talents and to express his love and knowledge of the natural beauty of God's creation.
E-scape Art Glass by James A. Veenstra is inspired from two primary sources: the natural beauty of God’s unspoiled creation; and escape into the intrinsic beauty of nature’s landscapes, ecology, and environment, (i.e. E-scapes).
Exploring the natural wonders of the earth, observing and interacting with her wildlife, and capturing some of her essence in my art and renditions give meaning and purpose to E-scape Art Glass. Living in the beautiful environs such as the mountains of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Northern Michigan have offered great blessings in these respects, and continue to be a source of inspiration.
“My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth.” Psalm 121: 2
ABOUT JAMES A. VEENSTRA
James Veenstra is a Michigan native, currently living on a small inland lake in Northern Michigan, near Tustin. Veenstra has lived in the Rocky Mountains west of Fort Collins, Colorado and Sheridan, Wyoming for a good part of his adult life. Consequently, his art glass work reflects the inherent beauty of God’s unspoiled creation in both western and mid-western settings.
Veenstra has formal training in both the Arts and Sciences. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Environmental Sciences, and his Master of Science degree from Colorado State University in Resource Planning/Hydrology. Veenstra also obtained an art minor at GVSU and has participated in selective art glass seminars and classes.
Veenstra has worked in the environmental field for over 38 years and has contributed to the delineation and/or clean up of hundreds of contaminated soil and groundwater sites. He has always been an avid horseman, outdoors enthusiast and sportsman, involved in hunting, fishing, outdoor photography, and wilderness backpacking, canoeing, kayaking and skiing adventures. His prolonged duration in Wyoming infected his attitude and philosophy with what is desirably Western. It is this unique blend of art, science, and the vast experience base of the natural world that Veenstra has been privileged with, which forms his particular style and art work.
Veenstra is an active member in a number of resource conservation and wildlife groups including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Pheasants Forever, Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, and the American Paint Horse Association.
Veenstra’s family consists of his wife Maggie, son Jesse, daughter and fellow artist BreeAnn (www.breeannveenstra.com), and yellow lab Bailey.
