Essimar Paper Craft Since 2006
I’m excited to share my unique handmade decorative baskets, which are available on Etsy. My admiration for decorative and utilitarian baskets began with the ones my grandparents made, which inspired me to enroll in my first willow basket-making workshop about four years ago at a local National Park. Since then, I have taken numerous classes and experimented with various materials, including corn husks, paper, grass, and willow.
I am a full-time artist, museum worker and MLIS student, specializing in archives. I have been creating art by hand since kindergarten. Originally from the Midwest, I am now exploring the Southwest.
I love learning and making things. I hold a Master's degree in Museum Studies and recently completed a Museum Studies Certificate from the Institute of American Indian Arts.
When I'm not making art, studying, or working, I enjoy growing vegetables, going long-distance hiking, weaving baskets, and tackling 500-piece puzzles.
