It's The Christmas Tree Stand's Fault!!

It all began at the Goodwill. One fine day, while I was enjoying a stroll through the thrift store, I happened to notice a Spincraft Heirloom Rotating Tree Stand marked $5.00. I quickly bought it, knowing it was something special, and rushed home to show the family. It worked perfectly and was something I'd never seen before, though I'm a child of the late 50s.

I decided to sell it on eBay and listed it on Black Friday 2002. To my utter amazement, it sold for $300. From then on, there was no turning back! Selling vintage collectibles and clothing became a fun and fulfilling job for me and still is to this day. I have almost 800 positive feedbacks between Ebay and Etsy.

Transitioning to Etsy was natural for me. I love the supportive, friendly community and the brilliant selling platform. As one who loves decorating and sewing, stocking Cottage and Creek with vintage fabric, notions, and linens is pure joy. I love going to estate sales and scouring Buffalo's many thrift stores for vintage treasures. My background in merchandising lends itself to the many tasks associated with running a successful Etsy shop.

Truth be told, I personally wear and use vintage items everyday in my own life. I love the fact that things made decades ago most likely weren't made in China, are most likely chemical-free, and are almost always whimsical, charming, colorful, and fun ...

I hope you find some "whatnots & whimsy" to delight you at Cottage and Creek. It's my privilege to share some of Buffalo's best vintage with you and I promise to do so with the utmost integrity and care.

In life and in work, I do all things for God's glory.

I really live in a cottage on a creek. I love decorating, writing, sewing, and being a "Grammy," but mostly, I love old stuff. Doesn't really matter what variety ... I love it all. Especially fabric, ephemera, and linens.
