Life in the slow lane
Hello! In 2017 the hubs and I both retired and left our Chattanooga home and friends to move back to Northwest Connecticut to be near the kiddos. We have settled back happily with one minor blip. I got bored real fast. I had not touched a sewing machine in over 30 years, so I decided to give it a go. Little did I realize that when you are retired, and have the time, you can hone your skills on a whole new level. I am loving every minute of it. After giving away a lot of hand-crafts, I decided to jump in the deep end of the pool and start my small business. It is a joy to wake up each day with the anticipation of learning something new, making something new and thinking about what the next day will bring, and the next and the next. I have met lots of fellow artisans and crafters, and started a Facebook group (Connecticut Craft Community) that is now 1,500 members strong and includes artists, craftsmen and event organizers. Their experience and shared tips have been invaluable as I have been making my way in the hand-craft business world. I am fortunate and having the time of my life. Thank you for visiting and supporting small business in general, and artisans and craftsmen in particular! Cheers ... Ann Johnson

Living the life in Northwest CT, me and the hubs are kicking back and enjoying retirement. Except I got bored really fast. So I dusted off my sewing skills not used in 3 decades. Thanks for visiting. I hope you find something that makes you smile.
