Something about me
1. What is your real name if different to your design name?
My real name is Erika Tomckova my design name comes from it, from the first letters
2. Where do you find your inspiration?
It is easy, inspiration is everywhere, in life, around me, in television, websides…
I always look for interesting ideas, new things…
I am looking for interesting inspiration for example in handmade things and than I try to make it myself for my kits…
3. How long does it usually take to complete a kit?
To create a kit is not easy for me… First of all I have to have an idea, the theme and the colour styling…that takes such time.
Than I have to create some elements and take some photos…
I start to create kit afterwards, which takes me 4-5days and more, and 2-3 days take my team to create promotion layouts.
All and all it takes more than week …never less than week
4. What are your favourite design tools and what computer/software/programs do you use?
I use Adobe PS CC
5. Do you have a method you like to follow?
Yes…first of all I think about the theme and pallet of colours.
Then I take my notebook and write all ideas of elements… then I start to create elements, take photos
When the elements are finished, I start to create papers.
During the creation of kits I try about 150 layouts to be sure the elements go together by style and by colours :)…
I have to admit I change the colours more than 20times ..haha but always the result must be perfect.
6. How many hours a day/week do you devote to designing?
Lot of time – about 8 hours a day and maybe more
7. Do you do any other design work like for paper companies? Magazines?
no, I don’t
8. Do you also scrap? Or just design?
Yes, sure I do… not so often, my main stream is design… but I like it, it is relax for me
9. Have you had any work published?
Yes, in the past I have some work published in one magazine, that does not exist yet…
Time for time I have advertisments in our czech-slovak magazine
10. How long have you been designing?
Since 2008
11. Where have you lived? Anywhere interesting?
I was born in Slovakia, I have lived in Czech republic from 2007, in Prague, which is the main town.
Prague is a very interesting city with beautiful monuments, showplaces, peoples…
I really love this city
12. Are you shy or confident?
There is no accurate answer – in some life areas I am introvert, in some I am extrovert…it depens on company maybe…
I am born in complicated Gemini sign…always two faces 🙂
13. Have you met any other digital scrappers/designers in person?
Yes, sure… I have several friends from Czech or Slovak republic that I have met in past or that I am meeting with regularly
14. What does your design name mean? How did you come up with it?
as I have said in my first answer, the name is my word caps, it was the first idea and I have used it from times I made freebies..
I use small letters always… I do not want to be confused with E.T. lol
16. Do you have another job/career other than designing?
