My name is Gregory, and I design and make everything you see here all by my lonesome. All of my products are 100% handmade. My work is cut by hand, tooled by hand, and sewn by hand; no machines are involved. Every single stitch is tightened with care and I'm proud of what I produce. I want to make things that people will cherish in 20 years. I want to make things that people will leave to others after their own leather gives up its ghost. I think about this while I work.

Everything I make is one of a kind, a completely unique product. There are no patterns, there are no duplicate items. If you purchase an EL product, you will be the only person on Earth with that piece. These bags will still be going gorgeous and strong decades after a made-in-china brand name leather bag has come apart at the seams and has shredded to tatters and is rotting in the middle of the landfill. If you don't believe me, see for photos of my own personal bag. It's been on my shoulder all around the world every single day for the past 10 years, it's more gorgeous than ever, and it has yet to need a single stitch replaced.

I use the very best leathers available, gorgeous and strong European, American and Argentinian hides. One of the biggest differences between my work and most of what you see here on ETSY is the quality of the leather I use. I always use the very best leathers available. I spend a lot of money so that I can work with the best quality leather available, where others cut costs I splurge.

All of my work is hand cut from the same hide. I let the natural lines of the skin tell me what to do, and I design as I go. I preserve the rough natural edges of the leather wherever possible. I cut as little as possible, and the main body of my bags is always one solid piece of leather. You will never see this in any industrially-produced leatherwork; companies want to use smaller and cheaper scraps and sew them together because their labor costs them pennies. But it's much stronger to preserve the integrity of the skin and I find the natural cut of the hide aesthetically more pleasing as well.

All adornments have character. Snaps and Buckles are solid brass and bronze, rivets are solid copper and brass. Occaionally I will adorn a bag with something special from my travels, maybe an Iron berber talisman from a Moroccan medina or a strange bead I found in a Cairo bazaar. Sterling Silver, Brass, Glass, Antler, Iron, Bone….

I sew exclusively with 4-7 ply waxed Irish Flax Linen thread. This thread is very, very strong. All seams are double stitched.

ALL PRODUCTS ARE GUARANTEED FOR LIFE. Should any of my products ever need any repairs due to normal wear and tear they will be done for free. This guarantee doesn't expire until I do.

Additional policies and FAQs

All of my products are unique, no two are exactly the same. Most of the creations you see here and on my website have already sold. I can make the same again for you, or we can make something to your specifications. I rarely do custom designs, but color and choice of leather can often be modified.
