I never have any disappointing surprises in my orders from Eureka Eureka which is one of my favorite platinum etsy sellers. The only "problem" I have is that the beads from this seller are so high quality that they make a lot of my bead stash seem inferior. I wish I had that kind of "problem" more frequently. Every order has been packed with loving care and shipped very promptly. My appreciation is yours as well as my thanks for another lovely transaction.

About

Searching the Globe For Unusual Beads, Faceted Gemstones And Treasure !

Welcome to EurekaEureka, where we (Debby & Joel Arem) offer you truly one of a kind luxury vintage beads and treasures, mainly from our trips all over the world during the 1970's and 1980's. We sell vintage products that in most cases cannot be replaced. Customer service is our #1 priority and we strive to make your buying experience interesting, secure and educational. We generally ship within 24-48 hours and insure all purchases over $100.

As a husband wife team we have been happily working together for almost 40 years - we opened our Etsy shop in January 2008 when we realized we had a surplus inventory of vintage beads, faceted gemstones and mineral specimens. We acquired these items while traveling the world during the 1970s and 1980s and were fortunate enough to visit such exotic places as Pakistan and Egypt back when it was safe to travel to such areas !
Joel is a leading authority on gems and minerals ( having written 7 books on the subject) so you can be sure that what you are buying is what has been represented!
★ Please visit www.joelarem.com to read more about Joel's background !

While traveling in Hong Kong and Taiwan, we visited bead factories and were able, not only to personally select each strand, but also have certain beads custom cut for us in unusual shapes. These beads helped set Debby apart from other bead artists - and still does.
You may see her work in our other Etsy shop: www.ForeverInStyle.etsy.com

Among our many excursions were visits to the jade markets in Hong Kong and Taiwan- Joel's expertise proved invaluable in ensuring that the jades we purchased were natural and un-treated. There is a proliferation of treated and misrepresented products in the current marketplace, and many items listed on eBay and Etsy are mislabeled, often being sold at 'bargain' prices which ARE, in fact, too good to be true! It has become especially important to shop with confidence from sellers who have real expertise and a commitment to accurate labeling.

Joel also spent many hours hand picking coral strands and matched pairs of carved beads from the largest coral producers in Taipei - angel skin coral from the South China Sea is not yet considered endangered but most likely will become so in the foreseeable future.

Extensive poaching lead to an international (CITES) ban on elephant ivory in the late 1970s . Abundant ivory is harvested legally from the many elephants that die naturally in Africa every year. Although trade in legally collected ivory is not prohibited , customs officials have made routine shipments extremely difficult. Consequently we have stopped shipping ivory beads and carvings outside the U.S.

Although it is not yet illegal to sell in the USA ivory that was harvested before the CITES ban, ETSY will not allow sellers to list ivory items in their shops.
★ For more information on this subject of ivory and availability please communicate with us via convos or email us at threerng [!at] verizon.net or debbyaremdesigns [!at] gmail.com ★

Our unique inventory contains a larger variety of vintage products than you will find almost anywhere else, and includes a huge assortment of semiprecious stone, metal, wood, shell, bone, coral, ivory, cloisonne, tensha , porcelain and glass beads. We also have antique Chinese porcelain shards from the Ming (1368 -1644) and Ch'ing (or Qing) Dynasty (1644-1911), as well as genuine antique pieces of Chinese silver from this same period.
.
► If you don't see something while browsing our many listings, feel free to contact us. It literally is just not possible to list everything we have in inventory - especially when it comes to faceted gemstones.
◀ You can send us a convo or email us at debbyaremdesigns [!at] gmail.com

Thanks so much for stopping by !

Welcome to EurekaEureka, where we offer you truly one of a kind luxury vintage beads and treasures from our trips all over the world during the 1970's and 1980's. Almost all of our beads have a story behind them which we will share with you, as we think it's both interesting and educational to know about the beads you are buying and using in your own designs.

✦ We sell vintage products that in most cases cannot be replaced. The quality and uniqueness of our items does not allow for negotiation on prices. While we may offer special promotional sales from time to time (such as free shipping on orders) at our discretion, our inventory prices are final as listed. ✦

We're also delighted to announce that our shop and our vintage beads were featured in http://www.jewelryandbeading.com/
In addition, http://www.etsyvintage.blogspot.com/ - an online interview ,will give you more insight into our shop and its background!

My husband Joel is a leading authority on gems and minerals (having written 7 books on the subject) so you can be sure that what you are buying is indeed as it has been represented!

◉ If you're new to Etsy, here's a guide to the checkout process: http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

We are always willing (if our inventory permits ) to do a reserve listing for you if you are interested in a larger number of a certain bead.
Etsy convos are the fastest way to contact us as we check our email multiple times a day!
You may also email us at either threerng [!at] verizon.net or debbyaremdesigns [!at] gmail.com if you so chose.

We greatly appreciate immediate payment as we always strive to have a quick turn-around of no longer than 72 hours from the time we receive your order and payment. We know you want your beads and we want to ship them as soon as we can so that we don't fall behind in our orders.
If there are ever extenuating circumstances where we will not be able to ship within 72 hours we will have a notice up in our shop to that effect or we will contact you personally.

We currently accept PayPal and Direct Checkout. If PayPal notifies us that you have paid by check, we will ship your items when your check clears, which usually takes about 5 business days.
When you pay with Direct Check Out, Etsy will notify you automatically that your order has been shipped and there will be a tracking number

If you are sending a money order, please make it out to Debby Arem and mail it to me at P.O. Box 5056 Laytonsville, Maryland 20882. We will notify you as soon as it arrives and your order will be shipped.
Shipping
We try to ship within 72 hours of receiving payment. Insurance will add a bit more depending on the value of your purchase.

YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS:
We ship to the address provided in the Checkout "SHIP TO" transaction section.
Etsy generates the shipping label that you the customer provide to Etsy and this is what we use.

Please be sure the address is accurate as many times the address that may appear on your PayPal account is different than where you actually want the item to be shipped.

The Buyer will be billed for the additional shipping fees if the package is returned to us because of an incorrect shipping address.

**We can insure both DOMESTIC and INTERNATIONAL packages. We use USPS insurance and also third-party coverage, which allows us to mail items by First Class Mail and get insurance for full value. USPS First Class Mail cannot be tracked once it leaves the USA, and items cannot be insured unless they are shipped via Priority or Express Mail (which is rather expensive). However, some countries are NOT COVERED by third-party insurance plans. We will let you know if this applies to an order you have placed in our shop, and work with you to ship as safely and cost-effectively as possible. Priority Mail to Canada and Mexico starts at about $20 (small flat rate box) or $29 for a normal package, and to other countries it varies, so please contact us if you need a quote for this kind of shipping. Maximum insured value for a flat rate box is $400.

Priority mail within the USA is $5.50 FOR UP TO 1 lb. of merchandise. Priority mail over 1 pound varies in cost with destination up to about $12.00 for a 3-pound package to California, for example. Please email us if you require any of these options.

International orders usually have contents described as "loose beads" or "polished stones" and are tagged as "commercial samples" to make your life easier when receiving your items. If you'd like us to mark your order as " gift" instead please let us know!
Refunds and Exchanges
All our beads are inspected one by one before being shipped. They are individually wrapped to protect them and then put in little plastic ziploc bags.

If you ever have a problem with a damaged bead, don't hesitate to contact us immediately rather than leaving negative feedback. We check our convos and email numerous times a day! We are only human, and with so many orders going out on a daily basis, there is always room for error.
We will replace your damaged bead, issue you a store credit, or give you a full refund if the item is returned in the same condition as it was shipped and within 14 days of receiving your order if you are not fully satisfied.
We want you to be 100% thrilled with your purchases and have this reflected in positive feedback which you can leave for us in our shop.

We value each and every customer and are delighted that you have chosen to shop in our store ! Customer relations are extremely important to us and we pride ourselves on the authenticity of what we sell, how we package it, and being accessible to all of you should a question or a problem ever arise.

Thank you -
Debby and Joel Arem
