Item was beautifully wrapped and in a robust box. The dichroic pendant itself is very pretty. But it came on a rubber cord (like the material of heaphone cord) not a leather one, as advertised. I wish I had known, so I could have chosen a chain instead :(

I checked with my supplier of cords and was told they are definitely leather. They are of a fine thickness which allows them to fit nicely in the presentation box. I was sorry to hear that they buyer was unhappy with the cord so sent her a thicker cord as well as a chain with my compliments.

About

From fundraising to glassmaking

As a child I was always drawing and making things; and like a magpie I've always loved shiny things and how the shades of coloured glass change in different light.

Whilst working in the voluntary sector I enrolled in evening classes at Bristol School of Art where I learnt how to create leaded stained glass windows. The versatility of glass types and techniques make it a fascinating medium to work with, and I soon moved on to working with fused glass which is fired in a kiln. Then, after friends and family kept asking me to make things for them, I quit my job and started making and selling glassware full-time.

Fused glass creates fabulous wall and window art and homeware, but there is always an element of risk and I can never be quite certain how a piece is going to turn out until I open the kiln. This keeps me on my toes! In my fused glass jewellery I use sparkling dichroic glass which is specially manufactured to show different colours and textures when it is moved around.

Much of my work is inspired by nature and the countryside of the South West which I visit whenever I can in my campervan. Many of my window panels have also been inspired by places I have travelled to further away such as Egyptian sand dunes or the blues and greens of the Caribbean sea. I am also fascinated by geometric patterns, especially those in Moorish art and architecture.

I'm a member of the Contemporary Glass Society and make a range of fused glass gift items on sale under the name Eva Glass Design in shops, galleries and events in Wales and the South West. I'm always interested in working to commission and enjoy the process of developing bespoke designs with clients. If you would like to commission either a stained glass window for your home or smaller fused glass items please contact me to discuss your requirements and budget.
