Announcement   Yes, we are the design studio that created the original Jeffy Puppet (copyright by Eva Gronowitz) .
We also hand make Jeffy, Jeffy's Friends, custom made puppets, muppet puppets, hand puppets, ventriloquist puppets, look-alike caricature hand puppets (puppets that can be custom made from a photo of you, your favorite person, or a celebrity), If you need a small Jeffy please contact us.
Who owns the copyright?
Beacon Art Studio. Artwork is only a starting point; it is subject to a wide variety of vagaries including the subjective eye of the artist; that is why it is called "conceptual." A three dimensional character and a flat image are not the same; nor can it be inferred that the flat image representation has anything to do with the size, features and inner construction.

When you purchase a puppet, you are purchasing a design contract, Beacon Art Studios LLC assigns ownership of the created physical puppet to the buyer. This includes the right to reproduce the character in visual media for advertising or promotional purposes only. All other rights are reserved by Beacon Art Studios but can be secured through a licensing contract.

A licensing contract is a “buyout option”, a one time fee that is agreed upon when the order is initially placed. The client can then reproduce the character in all media: photo, merchandising, plush, film & video, toy licensing, and reproductions of any sort. This fee is considerably higher, but not outrageous. We also ask for a credit on any film or video product.

Please know that Beacon Art Studio LLC will not relinquish ownership of the patterns, prototypes, materials, drawings, designs, techniques, research, knowledge or any other materials used in the construction of the character, ever. All work to create the product as a 3-dimensional work is considered proprietary to the design process and is solely Beacon Art Studios LLC property.

Frequently asked questions
CUSTOMS FEES

Apparently in Great Britain anything over $50 incurs £8 ($17.00 +/-) handling fee by Royal Mail plus a custom charge which totals £17.72($40.00+/-) for both... In other countries, there may be fees that apply to goods made outside of the country. Please be aware of this.

Care instructions

Jeffy’s body is made from fleece, so if he gets dirty, try to spot clean him with a mild solution of laundry detergent... about a HALF teaspoon of detergent to a pint of water. DO NOT saturate the puppet. Let it dry... If it does not work, undress the puppet, helmet, shirt, diaper, socks and sneakers... you will have to bring it to the (we call them 'Dry Cleaners' in the States). They may have a solution. The "mouth-piece" is made from a cardboard back-plate to make the mouth flexible... therefore, it can not be immersed in water... So, DO NOT put Jeffy in the washing machine.

Why are Jeffy's so expensive?

All of our puppets, especially Jeffy, are hand made. That means we dye the fabric for the body, arms, legs and face, cut out all the parts, sew the arms, legs, teeth, hair, eyebrows, eyes, ears, mouths and noses and put it all together. We have to source, or find, all the parts that we cant make, like the pencils, helmets, shoes and rods... the diapers are easy!
