FOR YOUR JOURNEY

Hey I’m Shuang! I’m the designer and voice behind Everli.

A few years ago I worked up the courage to leave my not so fulfilling corporate job and jump into the world of jewelry making. No art school degree, no industry contact, no jewelry know-how…just lots of passion and a loud instinct that I was meant to do this.

Well...a few months in and I was miserable.

I worried about all sorts of things, but mostly that I’d never be good enough and that I was delusional in thinking I had any talent. I was impatient for progress, critical of every mistake, and so results-obsessed that I stopped taking care of myself or having any fun.

It took me a long time to figure out why I was so unhappy doing what I loved. What I’ve since learned is at the heart of my designs:

One, that life is a journey with no final destination. We're free to pick a path that no one else has to understand or approve. But fulfillment doesn't just come from making those choices, nor does it come from crossing some finish line. Instead, it lies in the transformation we go through: From painful stumbles to triumphant milestones, from powering through setbacks to trusting that we can do it again and again and again...

Equally important: we’ll never be content without gratitude. Gratitude slows us down, in the best way. It quietly reminds us to soak up this very moment, don’t wait. It asks us to look around instead of always ahead. It compels us to reach outside of our own bubbles and connect with others.

So here I am, doing what I love, with more clarity, humility and gratitude than when I first started.

My mission behind this jewelry line is to cheer YOU on, as you chart your own path forward and build meaningful connections that feed your spirit.

If you’d like to keep in touch, you can find me on Instagram @everli.jewelry or subscribe to my newsletter where I share meaningful content, product previews and special offers: www.everlijewelry.com/newsletter

OUR SOURCING APPROACH

Rest assured that we work with recycled sterling silver and gold. Our metals supplier has been certified by the Scientific Global Services (SCS) audit in environmental sustainability, both for their recycled metals and their refining practices.

We also use conflict-free diamonds. Whenever possible, they are reclaimed diamonds (i.e. repurposed from existing jewelry) thereby helping reduce the volume of freshly mined diamonds and their associated environmental impact.

SOLID GOLD

Pure gold (24k) is too soft for daily wear, so it’s mixed with other metals for strength and durability. Our yellow and rose gold are nickel-free. White gold has about 7% nickel but we can offer a slightly more expensive, palladium-based white gold upon request.

► A disclaimer: We don’t rhodium plate our white gold for a silvery appearance, as the plating will wear off over time and require continuous re-plating. Its natural color is warm and beautiful as is. But if you’d like to rhodium plate yours, an extra fee will apply.

► 14k vs. 10k gold: 14k gold has 58% pure gold content. Compared to 10k gold, it has a warmer color and its higher gold content is more suitable for those with sensitive skin. 10k gold has 42% pure gold content. It’s harder and more durable than 14k gold, therefore perfect for those with an active lifestyle.

► Care: Solid gold jewelry can be worn on the daily, showers included! But avoid wearing it in any chlorine pool. If your gold jewelry is set with gemstones, don’t wear it while applying lotion, sunscreen, or perfume, as they could lead to dirt and chemical buildup that lodge in the crevices of your stone settings.

To clean, soak it in a bowl of warm water with a few drops of dish soap, and gently scrub it with a soft toothbrush. You may also use a polishing cloth.

STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals such as copper to give it durability and strength. This is why you often see 925 stamped on silver jewelry.

Sterling silver will oxidize and darken in color because its copper content reacts to moisture and sulfur in the air. It’s a natural process that can be slowed down and reversed, so don’t fret!

To slow down oxidation, wear your silver jewelry often! The oils from your skin will help “clean” the metal surface. Avoid contact with chlorine, perfume, hair spray, lotion, sunscreen or any chemical products that will react with copper. Make sure to dry your jewelry thoroughly after contact with moisture.

► Care: When not being worn, store your silver jewelry in a closed box or pouch, away from sunlight and moisture (no ring dishes please!). To remove tarnish, use a jewelry polishing cloth. Or make a paste using baking soda and water and then apply it to your jewelry with a soft cloth. Polish gently, rinse off and pat dry completely.

14K GOLD FILL

Gold fill is not to be confused with gold plate: it has 100x more gold content!

14k gold fill consists of a solid layer of 14k gold bonded to a base metal (usually brass) under substantial heat and pressure. The gold fill we use in our jewelry is nickel-free. With proper care, gold fill will retain its shine for many years, even with daily wear!

► Care: You can wear your gold fill jewelry in the shower, but avoid the ocean or pools, as salt and chlorine could damage the outer layer of gold. Clean it regularly to avoid buildup of dirt or sweat, using warm water and a soft cloth to pat dry. Alternatively, wipe gently with a polishing cloth.

Sizing details

If you're not sure about your ring size, please purchase a ring sizer from our shop.

A few other sizing tips:

1. Seasonality impacts your ring size. For example, if a size 6 ring feels a little too loose on you in warm weather, chances are it’ll feel even looser in the winter, so size down.

2. Ring style also matters. Statement rings will put a greater squeeze on your finger. If you plan to stack multiple statement rings, it's best to go 1/2 size bigger.

3. When in doubt, size up! It's always easier to size down a ring (by cutting away excess metal) than to size up (by building in extra metal).
