My life has been a sequence of discoveries that have made me say "Wow, what was I waiting for??" I've always been exploring different artistic mediums, but I've never loved any other artistic medium (watercolor, oil painting, printmaking) as much as I do metal smithing. I didn't explore metalsmithing until I turned 50 and found in this medium the usage of all my design skills; love of color, composition and texture.
Not only can I make jewelry that expresses my own, personal aesthetic, but I have found a following of people who love it too.

I used to texture all my silver using printmaking techniques from long ago, using asphalt, turpentine, and NITRIC ACID. Then I tried some other chemicals, and pnp paper and pretty much destroyed my kitchen and a $400 printer....My hands would get in contact with some strange combination of chemistry and smurf blue was the result. AND IT LASTED A LONG TIME....like I couldn't get it off at my daughter's graduation from grad school.....

So, then I rearranged all those thoughts and turned what was raised to recessed in my mind's eye and invested in a good rolling mill. Second to my husband, it might be my best friend!

I've used that marvelous tool to add to the surface of the silver, some of the designs I've been doodling since I could draw, the woodlands vine texture being a good example.

I've been hugely encouraged and affirmed by customers here on Etsy and their reviews and comments have helped me know that much of what inspires me resonates with them too.
