This wasn't shipped as quickly as possible, it could of been because of the snow storm, but it took 10 days to arrive.

About

all of my squeegees wear smiles.

My business exit343design began as a side project just after my junior year of college in 2007. The colorful stack of silkscreen prints I had amassed was large and I knew I couldn’t keep them all. I took a gamble and signed up to participate in a local “alternative” art/craft show called Art for the Cash Poor. I showed up with just a portfolio of prints, a friend, and two chairs; I don’t think I even remembered to bring change with me. Even the business cards I had were printed the night before. My expectations were low upon arrival, but I left with the confidence needed to go forth and develop my skills as both an artist and an entrepreneur.

Fast forward to the present and I’ve expanded my art/craft show repertoire to 10+ shows a year around the region and the country. I’ve experimented with a variety of products throughout the years (handmade books, jewelry, plush, etc) but have currently settled on a roster of silkscreen prints, stationery, tote bags, and small gift items. My work is carried at brick-and-mortar stores around the country with my growing wholesale division. In 2016, I took the leap into being my own boss!

You can find updates on my progress, products, shows, and more on my website: http://www.exit343design.com

Here are some random factoids:

- The French Paper catalogue makes me drool.

- I can’t get enough of the color teal or yellow ochre. Or woodgrain patterns.

- Some of my favorite artists are Etsy sellers themselves.

- I hope that one day, I'll be able to teach printmaking again.

- My entire art show setup fits in a 2005 Pontiac Vibe.

- exit343design is one girl, printing every color by hand.

- I am dying to take a proper class in letterpress.

Want to know more about me or my work? Just ask! Or check out these Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Do you do custom requests?

Absolutely! I’ll give just about anything a shot. In the past, I have designed and/or printed wedding invitations, save-the-dates for weddings, t-shirt logos, band posters, album artwork, and more. Drop me a line to find out if I’m a good fit for your project ☺

2. What does the quote written in pencil mean at the bottom of the print?

In printmaking, it is traditional to sign/date/title your prints on the front of the piece in pencil. I am not a fan of the staid “untitled,” so I try to develop titles that have a story behind them. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions!

3. Where does the name “exit343design” come from?

The name is a hybrid shout out to the two states I’ve lived in thus far. When I was an undergrad college student in New Jersey, my resident classmates always referred to their hometowns by exit number on the Turnpike or Parkway. I’ve been a resident of Pennsylvania the majority of my life and my hometown just so happens to have its own exit number on the PA Turnpike. I’ll give you one guess what number it is.

Thanks so much for stopping in!

All the best,

Stephanie Harvey
