About FabricBeadLady

Sales 172
On Etsy since 2015

How many fabric beads do you need, anyway?

I have been sewing all my life and have done some quilting. I started beading about 11 years ago and made a multi-strand seed bead necklace with lots of colors. I thought some kind of cuff would be cool to pull it all together, and since I don't work with metal, wood, or artist clay (epic fail in that department!) I thought that a "decoupaged" fabric cuff would work. TA DA! My fabric bead making process began and has evolved a lot over the years.

I started making jewelry and accessories for fun and donation to charity silent auctions. When I learned that people actually bought my donated items AND my husband asked me how many fabric beads did I really need, I decided to jump into the craft show world under the business name, "Purple Cow Designs". I did my first show in 2006 and have been doing several per year since then, including various quilt festivals. (I use quilt fabric to make my beads!)

I decided to take 2015 off from shows but had been thinking about opening a shop on Etsy for quite some time. On March 11, 2015, I opened FabricBeadLady! Slowly but surely, I am building my inventory in my shop and hope that others will have fun looking (and buying) my pieces!

Welcome to FabricBeadLady! I handcraft each fabric bead or pendant, starting with cotton, quilt fabric saturated in glue & water. When finished, I mix them with a variety of complementing beads and crystals. Each bead is protected with multiple layers of acrylic and is resistant (but not impervious!) to moisture.

Your purchase is not exempt merely because it is made over the Internet or by other remote means. Many states require purchasers to file a sales/use tax return at the end of the year reporting all of the taxable purchases that were not taxed and to pay tax on those purchases. Details of how to file these returns may be found at the websites of your respective taxing authorities.

Additional policies and FAQs
These are handmade items, and like anything, need to be treated with care. They are made to be durable but accidents happen, and I am happy to fix your piece as long as you provide the shipping.

They are resistant to moisture, but not impervious! Please do not wear them in the shower or the swimming pool!

I use cotton, quilt fabric to make my beads. If you have such fabric that you would like made up, please contact me about doing a custom order!

I hope you enjoy the jewelry as much as I have enjoyed making it!
