You will find carefully digitized designs to make it easy for you to make lovely items!

I respond to messages Monday through Friday. I really do try to have weekends.

Lucky Girl

Thank you for stopping by!

My formal education is math and optical physics- so yes, I'm a nerd. But it is amazing how many scientists are also artists or musicians. Something about left brain right brain balance. Since I can't carry a tune in a bucket (even a very large one) I luckily got the artistic gene.

So after years of working with digital imagery at work and sewing, digitizing, quilting and crafting at home, I set out on this adventure.

I started offering my digitized embroidery designs and digital printing and craft cutting designs on Etsy and It is even more fun than I imagined. I have amazing customers that I love working with and my days are full of creativity and technical challenges.

I'm a lucky girl!

I was born in Portland Oregon (that's ORY-GUN), have spent my professional career as a remote sensing scientist in New Mexico, and now I'm a Texan!

    Comic Relief

Bentley is a Blue Point Siamese that loves to play with ribbons, remove the thread from my serger and eyes the chandelier above the dining room table. (I know it's just a matter of time) He doesn't help at all but keeps me laughing all the time.

Why can't I see these Embroidery files on my computer?

The embroidery files are machine instructions for your embroidery machine. To view these files on a computer you will need software specifically designed for this.

What is BX format and why do I care?

If you haven't started using these for you fonts yet, you are in for a very pleasant surprise. BX allows you to use the keyboard rather than bringing them in as images. Saves lots of time! Embrilliance offers free software to read these files and save your design to your machine format. It's called Embrilliance Express and is available here: http://embrilliance.com/express

I include BX format with all of my fonts.

I'm totally new to machine embroidery - Do you have tutorials or information to help me learn?

I have put together some written material for beginners. It is available on my blog, www.fabricmodern.com/blog

Why "Resizing is not recommended" ?

When you resize a design without digitizing software, it almost always causes some kind of problem.
Editing software is for combining and moving but doesn't recalculate stitch density or stitch lengths. It just moves the stitches.

Making designs larger can cause gaps because it moved the stitches farther apart to make the design bigger. This can also violate maximum stitch rules which will cause your machine to skip those stitches.

Making designs smaller can also violate minimum stitch rules which will cause your machine to skip those stitches.

If you need one of my designs you've purchased resized - just message me. I am happy to resize it for you at no charge.
