Announcement    La petite fabrique de Brunswick is a ceramic studio based in Melbourne. Lucile started it in 2014, after making a successful pozible campaign, where she aimed to raise money to start her studio and build a 3D printer to print clay (check: alterfactstudio.net). With La petite fabrique de Brunswick, the ceramics are handmade at her studio in Brunswick at the back of her house. Each ceramics are made in a very white porcelain, using traditional slipcasting techniques. Lucile uses pigment to color the porcelain create pattern, which each time will slightly different, and use a clear glaze to finish her pieces and make them water tight and food safe. Lucile designs and creates the prototypes, the mold in plaster, casts and glazes everything in her studio, and fires all her work just accross the road from her house. With this process, Lucile creates unique pieces, and each time she openes the door of the kiln, she is surprised by the result. The clay by its caracteristics is very temperamental and the result is always slightly different from what you can expect. It's impredictability is what Lucile loves.
But making handmade ceramics doesnt mean there are not usefull as well- the objects as they are made in porcelain, can be used in the microwave, in the oven or in the dishwasher! Beautiful, unique and easy to use. You can create all your favorite bake goods in beautiful ramequin and serve them in what they have been cooked! If you have any question or specific request, or you want something specially done for you- just send me an email- I make custome made orders- just email me at: lapetitefabriquedebrunswick [!at] gmail.com

About

la petite fabrique de brunswick

Bonjour!
My name is Lucile, I am a french designer born in Provence. I arrived in Melbourne at the start of the summer 2013, and are now living in Brunswick. I moved in a big shared house full of Artists and I set up my studio at the back of my house in a small wooden shed.

Here I make all kinds of slip cast ceramics, which I have made for the last few years. From the prototype, the mold, the casting to the glazing, I am doing everything by myself in Brunswick !

With this technique, I produce bowls, cups, teapots… And I create some patterns and drawings by using pigments to colour the porcelain. Home made and hand made, these objects will be your best friends for breakfast, tea time, dessert, brunch, picnics…

Each ceramic is unique and special, but it doesn't mean that you can't put them in the dishwasher or in the micro wave! They are beautiful and usefull.

And of course: Food safe!
