Emma was an absolute delight to work with! I feel like we became friends in this process. She was so patient with me as I had particular requests throughout. But she came through better than I could have imagined. My nieces are ready to fly! Wish I could give her more stars! Thanks, Emma!

About

Where the mundane and the magical meet

Scotland is full of castles, myths and magic. They are part of my psyche and influence everything I make.

FairyWingsAndTutus grew out of my love of craft and all things magical.

People mostly buy my wings for festivals, weddings, halloween, Christmas and other celebrations, but sometimes they buy them just to hang on their wall and look at. It's so easy to forget how magical life is when you're all wrapped up in the daily grind. Sometimes we need something physical to remind us that life can be full of beauty and wonder..

At the moment I make two ranges of wings, *UP WINGS*, fabulously decorated and pretty unique, and *ARTISAN WINGS*, these take longer to make and are usually limited editions or OOAK's ( one of a kinds).

I also make tutus, bustles, tutu belts, flower crowns, headbands and wands. Occasionally I upcycle corsets and dresses. Some of the things I make are quite rad and out there, but mostly I'd describe my style as romantic and whimsical.

I make everything myself and I try to add something new to my shop every week. I also sell offline, mainly at wedding venues, makers markets, craft shows and Christmas Fayres. My nearest Christmas Fayre is held at the castle in the first picture.

See you there ?

I've always been an ELF so I guess making things was inevitable because that's what elves do. At school they called me Santas' little helper. Some teachers can be so cruel !!! Nowadays I embrace it. ♥ ELF ♥ (Proud to be an everyday fairy)

Payment
My shop is here http://www.etsy.com/shop/fairywingsandtutus

Because I am in the UK all payments need to go through Paypal.

You DON'T need a Paypal account to pay through Paypal you can use your normal debit or credit card.

Here's how - When you checkout click the pay by Paypal option & you will be forwarded to a secure page. This page gives you the option (on the left hand side) to pay using your debit or credit card. Simply select this option and follow the on screen instructions.

Please pay within 3 days because I want to get your goods to you as soon as possible and I can't send them until payment has cleared. (echecks take on average 5 -7 days longer to clear than other payment methods.)

Cancellations can only be accepted before the items have been posted.

Paypal charges 20p to refund the payment.

Any problems just convo. I will reply within 24hours.
Shipping
I post on MON, WED & FRI except when there is a public holiday.

I post to the address listed in Etsy unless the buyer is in the US or Canada when I need to post to the confirmed Paypal address.

I try to keep the postal costs down as much as possible. The shipping cost includes packaging materials but not my time or gas.

Within the UK I ship 1st class as standard but larger orders and bigger wings have to go by parcel post.( PO 1st class delivery aim 1-5 working days.Parcel post 3+ working days.) Please note these are the PO's aims, they are not guarantees.

Internationally I ship 1st class Airmail as standard. ( PO delivery aim 3-7 working days, please note these are the PO's aims. International parcels can take up to 6 weeks if delayed at customs or in the US by Homeland security, this is happening a lot at the moment.)

**Current delivery times are running at Europe 7 days. Rest of the world 2-3 weeks.**

More than one item to an International destination? Sometimes items will be mailed separately so the parcels are small enough to fly, this is the most cost effective method, sending by sea is much slower and more expensive so I avoid it if at all possible.

If I can fit more than one item into an airmail sized box,and is under the insurance limit, I will do so and refund any overpayment via Paypal.

International buyers are responsible for any fees, duties and taxes payable at customs. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information.

Wings are generally shipped in new boxes in order to protect them. Extra large ltd edition or OOAK wings may need to be wrapped in recycled cardboard then bagged because of their size.

Tutus are generally shipped in postal bags to save on postage costs.

Any questions please convo me.
Refunds and Exchanges
I'm sure you will love your purchases but if for any reason you don't please convo me or email me straight away. I will reply within 24 hours.

I am happy to exchange or credit/refund on any ready to ship items you are not happy with (less shipping paid) if you notify me by convo or email on receipt, the items are returned no longer than 7 days after receipt, unused, in their original packaging and in perfect condition for resale. Please quote your original order number on the package. Please note the returning customer is responsible for payment of return postage. It is a good idea to obtain proof of posting from your Post Office in case the item goes missing and you have to claim from the Post Office.

Custom made items are non returnable.

If your item arrives damaged, please, if you can, take some photos of the damage including any damage to the packaging. These will help with the insurance claim. Then convo or e mail me straight away about what to do next.
Additional policies and FAQs
I make 2 ranges of wings *UP WINGS*, fabulously decorated and pretty unique, and *ARTISAN WINGS*, these take longer to make and are usually limited editions or OOAK's.

I also make sewn tutus and tied tutus. I use the softest American bridal tulle, and crystal organza for my tutus. I recommend hand washing, but some of the sewn tutus can be machine washed on a delicate cycle. However, I think it is safer and easier to just to handwash so that is what I recommend.

I love both sewn and tied tutus but tutus tied on a crochet band are my favourite because you can make them so full and fluffy.

TIP : You can combine the advantages of both sewn and tied tutus by handstitching into the knots of the ties. This takes time but makes the tutu very strong.

I upcycle corsets and dresses, washing instructions for these are detailed in the individual listings.

All my items are made with love even the accessories.

I really want you to love everything you buy from me so if you have a problem convo or email me and I will do my best to sort it out.
