Faking Sanity is the online home of Cindy and Ang's brick & mortar store in Dawson Creek, BC (personal Etsy profiles: perian and mtlaise). In this shop, you'll find a variety of yarns, including our exclusive Faking Sanity yarn line, our handspun and hand dyed yarns, knitting needles and accessories, hand made soaps, lotions, chainmail and jewellery.

Note: All items prepared in a pet-free, smoke free home.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Returns and exchange details
We make every attempt to capture colour-accurate photographs. However, as computer monitors and devices are all calibrated differently, we cannot guarantee that the colour you see on your screen is the exact colour of any yarns. That being said, please do send us a message if you are unhappy with any of our items, and we will work with you to resolve the issue. If you wish to return an item, contact us first; we do not charge a restocking fee, but do require that returns be discussed/approved first (approval is based on whether the item has been used, etc). You are responsible for return shipping costs; upon receipt of the item, as long as it is still unused and in new condition, we will issue a refund of the purchase price (minus shipping costs).
Payment
Payment is due within 3 days of purchase. We accept payment through Paypal (either Paypal balance, debit, or credit), Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover. Orders are shipped within 3 business days of receiving payment.
Shipping
Shipping is a strange and costly beast in Canada. To keep shipping costs down for our customers, yarn will be shipped skeined, but flat and vacuum sealed (rather than in a twisted skein) within Canada, which typically reduces the cost of shipping by more than half. For US and international orders, we will typically ship small packet. Please note neither tracking or insurance is included in this standard shipping option, but you can purchase a shipping upgrade if you want either for your purchase. You are responsible for any customs, duties or taxes that your country might charge upon receipt of your goods.

Privacy
This Privacy Policy describes how and when Faking Sanity collects, uses, and shares information when you purchase from us or contact us through Etsy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties such as Etsy itself (you can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices).

Information Collected:
Faking Sanity does not collect and/or store any information outside of Etsy. When you purchase an item from Faking Sanity on Etsy, Etsy provides us with the information required to fulfil the order (such as details of the product you are ordering, payment information, and the name, email address and shipping address you provided for the order).

Why We Need this Information and How We Use It:
- to fulfill your order
- to answer your questions or provide customer service to you regarding the item you are inquiring about or purchasing
- if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchase if required by tax law
if necessary to comply with Etsy's Seller Policy and Terms of Use

Information Sharing and Disclosure:
Our customers' privacy is of utmost importance to us. We share your information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
- Etsy: The information you share on Etsy's platform for the purposes of purchasing an item from us is accessible to Etsy, and we may provide information to them (such as the date we shipped an item, in the case of a dispute)
- Shippers: We share your shipping information with trusted delivery/shipping companies, such as Canada Post, for the purpose of shipping your purchase to you.
- Compliance with laws – If provincial, national or international law requires us to keep your information (such as in the case of a legal process or to address fraud or other illegal activity)
- We do not transfer to or retain your personal information on any platform outside Etsy

Data Retention:
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with the product(s) and/or service(s) you purchased from us via Etsy and as described in this Privacy Policy. We do not keep personal information outside of the Etsy platform at all, for any period of time. However, we may refer back to this information on the Etsy Shop Manager as required (such as to resolve disputes about the sale), for the period of time that Etsy retains this information and makes it available to us via the Shop Manager.

Your rights:
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information.
- Access: You may have the right to access and receive a copy of any personal information we hold about you (remembering that we retain no personal information ourselves beyond the time frame of your purchase, though we can still see details for your transaction via Etsy's Seller's platform).
- Change, Restrict, Delete: As we do not save any personal information about you at all, there is nothing to change, restrict or delete (if you wish your information to be removed from Etsy, you will need to contact them).
- Complain: If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information, you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
