Welcome to Falcieri Designs. I am a Manchester, UK based womenswear designer founded in 2012. I specialize in one-off designs in statement wear, fashion, concept and bridal wear as well as a limited range of upcycle and recycle accessories. I now also stock a choice selection of one off and limited edition antique, vintage, upcycle and recycle craft supplies and haberdashery to encourage make do and mend and sustainable crafts with less impact on the environment.
All my designs are unique one-offs conceived, designed and made by me in my studio, for women who want to stand out in a crowd and want to be the only one who owns 'that dress'. I make 'off the hanger' and to client requests. No two pieces are ever exactly the same and 90% of my work is open to customization.
I specialize in soft drape fabrics that flatter any figure and are beautifully elegant. I have designed for all sizes from UK4 to 30. We all deserve to look and feel a million dollars but because all my designs are one-offs I didn't want to have to decide who got to wear it. I wanted to be able to cater to a range of women in one go.
Many of my garments are designed with taller ladies 5ft 9in+ and are predominantly designed with multi-fit in mind. Generally one gown will fit a UK 8 - 16 without alterations. I do, however, offer a customization service on all my designs so if you are shorter or have a different body shape I can usually make those changes at minimal extra cost.
When you buy from me, you are buying British handmade every time, utilizing my skills as a pattern cutter and designer and supporting British manufacturing as well as the uniqueness of an independent company. I design, cut, sew, market and package everything myself from my studio here in Manchester and I don't employ any staff or outside companies.
I use two sewing machines - a semi-industrial Brother straight stitch, and a Janome 4-thread overlocker. I make my patterns using paper, a pencil and a French Curve.
Because I make everything myself, without robots or automated production, everything I make is slightly different and includes slight imperfections. This is because it is handmade by a human being, not a factory line.

5 out of 5 starsA brilliant purchase. Using it for a novel I am ready during lockdown, I am 1/4 of the way through it.
The bookmark/magazine mark is well made and user friendly. Well done. -

5 out of 5 starsIngenious idea, bought as a gift for Christmas, I am sure it will be well received. I will probably buy one for myself too as I read a lot. I like the one with the corner taken off.
Well done. -

5 out of 5 starsThe wool type is very luxurious, and the price was good, I bought 6 to make a pom pom scarf which I will list soon. They are such a lovely colours in rust and orange, I am sure they will sell out.

5 out of 5 starsThis fabric is very nice, a sort I have never seen, I am using it to wrap some upcycled jewellery and make some scrunchies, I could even make a top or something of that sort depending on the quantity of fabric left. I am so impressed, thank you.

About falcieridesigns
I design as a reaction to the fast fashion industry
Falcieri Designs became official in July 2012, although my career as a freelancer began years before as a historical costume designer and maker. After I sold all my costume stock in 2012, my business transitioned into fashion and to the design work you see today.
I have always worked alone managing my business single-handed, with no factories, marketing companies or bricks and mortar shops.
I wanted my design process to be a reaction to fast fashion and the problems it is causing to our environment, our shopping habits and the way we perceive material gain. I am a strong supporter of upcycle, recycle, make do and mend, and keeping things until they have realistically worn out, not just binning them because they are no longer 'in fashion'. It is an ethos I follow in my day to day life when I can.
I source most of my fabrics from sewing co-operative sales and dead stock from UK clothing factories, making use of fabrics that would probably otherwise have ended up in landfill. I design using paper, a pencil and a french curve and I do all the work myself in my home studio. My supply chain is, therefore, almost completely transparent.
Each garment I make is unique because of the limited amounts of fabric I am able to pick up at any one time. Because of this, I specialise in multi-fit garments using my own drape design technique. This mean that many of my garments fit on average a UK8 to a UK 16 without alterations and I keep hems long to cater for much taller women (on average 6ft). I am happy to custom alter wherever possible, thus broadening the potential appeal of each individual garment to a range of women.

Please contact me for full details for customised items as it does vary depending on your requirements, timescales, shipping area etc.
Shipping
Due to the ongoing Corona Virus pandemic, some orders may be delayed in transit. Please bear this in mind when ordering internationally and if you have any concerns please send me a message. At present some deliveries are taking 9 weeks or longer to reach destinations such as the USA, Canada and beyond. Whilst deliveries are apparently leaving the UK in good time, the situation in the receiving countries is unclear. Many items are no longer being sent by air from the UK but by ship and it is impossible to discover where this is happening or how that affects delivery estimations because it also depends on how post is being distributed in the receiving country.
Worldwide standard airmail is based on information provided to me by the Post Office but it cannot be guaranteed as the situation in other countries is changing daily. I provide accurate postage information where I can but cannot take responsibility where the postal system has failed to uphold their delivery times and especially where the situation is out of their control. In some cases where a guaranteed service has been requested and not met by the postal service refunds may be an option but that is dependent on the policy of the postage service concerned.
The following represents standard estimated shipping durations in normal times but please see above for the extended shipping times currently in operation:
UK: 1-3 business days
North America: 1-5 weeks
Europe: 3-12 business days
Australia, New Zealand and Oceania: 1-5 weeks
TAXES AND VAT
Some countries impose import taxes/customs charges. I am not responsible for any import taxes incurred for delivering overseas. It is the buyers responsibility to pay. Please check with your import policies where possible if you have concerns about additional costs.
PACKAGING
To keep shipping costs down and in line with my sustainable ethos, I recycle packaging wherever possible. I also only print invoices where there is country tax included for customs purposes or where customers specifically request one. Invoices are available to print from your Etsy account or will be detailed in the email Etsy sent you when you made the purchase.
MULTIPLE ITEMS
Multiple items costs on my shipping calculator are a guide. If you are purchasing more than two items of varying weights I am more than happy to manually recheck all weights for you and recalculate based on this and increased insurance for your items. Just drop me a line in advance to check shipping costs. I am always happy to respond to queries regarding estimating shipping costs in advance!
COLLECTION OR DELIVERY IN PERSON
If it works better for you, you are more than welcome to collect directly from myself in Manchester. Alternatively, and if you are not too far away, I can deliver for petrol fees at a rate of 20ppm.
