Welcome to Falcieri Designs. I am a UK designer/maker founded in 2012.
My business was borne out of my frustration with high street retailer dress sizing and how nothing ever fitted. I realised there was never going to be a good fit for me because off the rail mass-produced clothing is generic, and yet none of us are generic. That's when I hit upon the idea to design dresses that fit in all the key areas without needing precise measurements.
I specialise in one-off designs made from dead stock/destined for landfill and end of roll fabrics. I specialise in soft drape fabrics which are made into unique designs that flatter any figure and are beautifully elegant. Many of my dresses fit a UK 8 - 16 without alteration. I do, however, offer a customisation service on all my designs. Many of my garments are also designed with taller ladies (5ft 9in+) in mind
I have since expanded my upcycle/recycle/rescue from landfill ethics into jewellery, accessories and home decor using the remnant fabrics and haberdashery from my clothing designs and from donated items. I also stock a selection of antique, vintage, and destined for landfill craft supplies and I have recently expanded into recycle paper products turning used gift wrap and cards into gift bows and tags for all occasions.
The aim of everything I do is to give it a second life, to keep it out of landfill, and to stop adding to the manufacturing mountain. This includes all my packaging, which I recycle wherever possible and various people donate their pre-used packaging to me on a regular basis to ensure I can keep costs to my customers down and give cardboard and jiffy wrap a second life.
I am a truly British handmade business. I source, design, cut, sew, market and package everything myself from my home studio. To see more of what Falcieri Designs does you can follow me here:

About falcieridesigns
I design as a reaction to the fast fashion industry
Falcieri Designs became official in July 2012, although my career as a freelancer began years before as a historical costume designer and maker. After I sold all my costume stock in 2012, my business transitioned into fashion and to the design work you see today.
I have always worked alone managing my business single-handed, with no factories, marketing companies or bricks and mortar shops.
I wanted my design process to be a reaction to fast fashion and the problems it is causing to our environment, our shopping habits and the way we perceive material gain. I am a strong supporter of upcycle, recycle, make do and mend, and keeping things until they have realistically worn out, not just binning them because they are no longer 'in fashion'. It is an ethos I follow in my day to day life when I can.
I source most of my fabrics from sewing co-operative sales and dead stock from UK clothing factories, making use of fabrics that would probably otherwise have ended up in landfill. I design using paper, a pencil and a french curve and I do all the work myself in my home studio. My supply chain is, therefore, almost completely transparent.
Each garment I make is unique because of the limited amounts of fabric I am able to pick up at any one time. Because of this, I specialise in multi-fit garments using my own drape design technique. This mean that many of my garments fit on average a UK8 to a UK 16 without alterations and I keep hems long to cater for much taller women (on average 6ft). I am happy to custom alter wherever possible, thus broadening the potential appeal of each individual garment to a range of women.

We recommend you thoroughly check your items upon receiving, and before disposing of any tags or packaging. Goods must be returned to us in a saleable condition, without being worn, washed, damaged or used and with tags still on where applicable.
Customised items are non-returnable or refundable.
If you would like to exchange an item or require customisation after receiving it, get in touch, and I will be happy to send out the new item upon receiving the original or arranging alterations with you for garments you have already received.
Return and exchange shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility unless the product is at fault.
Payment
If you are requesting a customised version of an existing garment that is being made from scratch for you, costs will be agreed in advance. Usually I request a deposit in advance plus materials, with the rest payable upon completion with pre-agreed shipping costs.
Please contact me for full details for customised items as it does vary depending on your requirements, timescales, shipping area etc.
Shipping
Due to the ongoing Corona Virus pandemic, some orders may be delayed in transit. Please bear this in mind when ordering internationally and if you have any concerns please send me a message. At present some deliveries are taking 9 weeks or longer to reach destinations such as the USA, Canada and beyond. Whilst deliveries are apparently leaving the UK in good time, the situation in the receiving countries is unclear. Many items are no longer being sent by air from the UK but by ship and it is impossible to discover where this is happening or how that affects delivery estimations because it also depends on how post is being distributed in the receiving country.
Worldwide standard airmail is based on information provided to me by the Post Office but it cannot be guaranteed as the situation in other countries is changing daily. I provide accurate postage information where I can but cannot take responsibility where the postal system has failed to uphold their delivery times and especially where the situation is out of their control. In some cases where a guaranteed service has been requested and not met by the postal service refunds may be an option but that is dependent on the policy of the postage service concerned.
The following represents standard estimated shipping durations in normal times but please see above for the extended shipping times currently in operation:
UK: 1-3 business days
North America: 1-5 weeks
Europe: 3-12 business days
Australia, New Zealand and Oceania: 1-5 weeks
TAXES AND VAT
Some countries impose import taxes/customs charges. I am not responsible for any import taxes incurred for delivering overseas. It is the buyers responsibility to pay. Please check with your import policies where possible if you have concerns about additional costs.
PACKAGING
To keep shipping costs down and in line with my sustainable ethos, I recycle packaging wherever possible. I also only print invoices where there is country tax included for customs purposes or where customers specifically request one. Invoices are available to print from your Etsy account or will be detailed in the email Etsy sent you when you made the purchase.
MULTIPLE ITEMS
Multiple items costs on my shipping calculator are a guide. If you are purchasing more than two items of varying weights I am more than happy to manually recheck all weights for you and recalculate based on this and increased insurance for your items. Just drop me a line in advance to check shipping costs. I am always happy to respond to queries regarding estimating shipping costs in advance!
COLLECTION OR DELIVERY IN PERSON
If it works better for you, you are more than welcome to collect directly from myself in Manchester. Alternatively, and if you are not too far away, I can deliver for petrol fees at a rate of 20ppm.
